Part Ten: The Finally

It took as long as they had, before walkers started coming through their sanctuary. The pause in the horror they had was joyous and at times haunting. Everyone forgave each other's conceited ways.

Maggie finally beame pregnant from Glenn. Who knew the secret to gettin pregnant was to stop forcing it. Maggie and the group left their sanctuary for the North, in hope that the cold would slow the walkers down. When they reached Washington D.C, the buildings looks like fallen temples, where the Gods laid themselves to rest. They trekked onto Gettysburg, where in the battlefields laid just as many walkers as there was once fallen confederates and union soldiers.

The winter months came where Carol and Tyreese found their resting places. They had gotten sick and went in their sleep, Carol, just before doing both her an Tyreese a favor.

As the time dragged on Michone and Rick grew closer together. Carl and Judith grew faster than expected and soon Judith was speaking and unexpectedly called Michone mama, instead of Beth.

Making their settlement in New York, the group was dwindling. Sasha an Bob were on watch and were bitten. Sadly they too did not last long.

In their own apartments down by the Brooklyn Bridge, Maggie and Glenn had a baby girl, who they named Maribeth Rose. She looked a lot like Glenn.

In months to come, Beth, Daryl, Hunter, an Rebecca all settled down in the one safe place they could think, The Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island. It was walker free and spacious. Maggie refused to live there, but often visited by taking one of the boats or jet skis.

As for our favorite couple, Beth gave birth to three more children, Hershel, Marcus, and Kensi, all two years apart. Daryl and Beth often laughed at their apocalyptic romance. As they aged with grace, of all of them, Beth grew week and more tired as the days go on. More families were found in New York an their children co-mingled, married, had children with The Dixon's the Rhees, and the Grimes. Beth sadly passed away at age 64. Daryl was 91 and the last of the original group, besides Carl and Judith.

As he looks up in the sky he remembers what that silly little girl told him all those years ago over a mason jar of moonshine.

"Yer' gonna be the last man standin', Daryl Dixon."

And He was.
