It's one of those days again. Cold, rainy day and the complete opposite of entertaining since I've got absolutely nothing to do and nowhere to go. It's the weekend, last week of school is coming up before the summer break. Finally, I'll have a chill few months whilst I stuff myself with crisps and stay lying in bed all day Netflix and chilling with myself. Perfection... This would all be possible if I actually didn't have plans with the three dumbfucks that I call my best friends, Cole aka Colby, Isabelle aka Izzy and Aaron aka Ace. Colby is the one in charge of what we're doing since he seems to be the smart one... Apparently.

Sometimes I feel like the raindrops are there to distract my thoughts and perhaps keep me company. Not complaining though, it is very soothing. I close my eyes enjoying the moment, taking in every single detail. I count my slow breaths, count my heartbeats. My thoughts trail off to nowhere. I hear excited shrieks of young children as the rain starts to go. Looking out the window, I feel all the memories and sudden nostalgia flood me. Aaron and I used to sneak out our houses when we were about seven years old, just so we could play out in the pouring rain. It used to be so much fun but now rainy days are boring and not to mention very slow.

Just when I start to drift off and fall asleep my phone starts to violently ring, ruining the perfect moment. I groan rolling over to my side table and taking a look at my phone.

Caller ID: Acey

Rolling my eyes I pick up the phone "What?" I blurt out still half asleep.

"Oh, okay grumpy Vicky. Wanted to see if your lazy ass would like to come out for a few hours."  I give him a chuckle. "Okay annoying Acey. I will come out. It's fine that you have ruined my moment. I'm not bothered at all, not like it matters." I love using my sarcasm against him.

I can practically see him rolling his eyes whilst pressing his lip together suppressing a grin. "At the rock in fifteen."

I go up to the mirror that's at the back of my room door. Yeah, the same reflection, absolutely nothing has changed. Those sky blue eyes staring back at me are the same ones they were ten years ago, just full of regret and secrets only these four walls will ever hear. I stare at my hair and the curls that have practically got a mind of their own have decided to fall apart. I pull my so called hair up into a high pony tail staring at the blank eyes that seem as if they are looking through me. I sigh quietly, pull my hood over my head and put my earphones in.

It's quite chilly outside and I love it. For some reason days like today, which there's a lot of, I just want to sit outside and breathe in the scent of rain and ozone in the air. I'm walking down the beach that has been soaked by the rain, just like any other day. The waves have calmed down a bit allowing me to walk near the wa-

"Anna!" someone suddenly jumps on me immediately making my entire body freeze in place, too scared to move. "Jesus fucking Christ." I manage slowly turning my body as if it will break any minute. Of course. It's no one other than Cole. "Fuck, dimples." I say watching him laugh hysterically.

"I... Oh... you should've seen the- the look on your face... Ann..." he says trying not to wheeze in between every word. I smack him across his head shacking my own, my heart still trying to escape my body. My arms fly in his direction and he almost instantly scoops me up into a bear hug making my heart beat just a beat faster, which I don't even see being possible.

He laughs lightly, sounding a little awkward. For some reason his cheeks flushing bright red. I shrug it off as nothing. "Your heart really is beating fast. You alright?" he asks scratching the back of his neck still blushing. I laugh feeling myself blush and I don't even bother to try to hide it. "I'm fine, dimples. Really, why you so concerned about it?" He kicks a few pebbles around when he suddenly changes his mind and says "Forget it, let's go." he pulls my arm and I tag along.
