The camera bounces around as the girl holding it pants heavily behind it and runs down the hallway stairs. She slides across the foyer and swings open the door with too much enthusiasm as always, but she completely ignores it this time.
Sunlight pours into the frame until it clears. A man leans against a black sports car with his hands in his rockstar jeans. He grins when he sees her, adjusting his black frames up his nose with his slender pointer finger.
He's handsome for his age. Dark curls falls around his face, soot grey eyes twinkle happily at the girl behind the camera. He's stylishly dressed in dark denim jeans, a black button up left upon over a white vneck tee.
The girl giggles and runs at him as her mother calls out to the man," Have her back on time! She's has school!"
The man waves her unconcerned, arms already open for the girl as she slams into him," Dad!" He laughs happily as the camera is squished between them, looking up at his happy face," What have you got there?"
The camera moves up and down as the girl pulls away and bounces on her toes," I'll show you when we get in the car!" He throws his head back and laughs, opening the car door for her," Can't wait."
The camera jostles around as the girl hops into the car, bouncing on her butt in the seat and swiftly buckled her seatbelt.
She turns the camera facing him as he gets in the drivers seat. He grins at it, intelligent grey eyes dancing much like her blue ones do. "Meet my latest invention. The K-1TTy cam!" He snorts and laughs," Is that why it has cat ears?"
The camera bounces around as the girl nods," There's still a few glitches I have to sort out, but those are mostly superficial."
Her dad cranks the car and drives off," Whats so special about it?"
"Well you see...",she starts. "I bet I will.", he teases her as he smirks at her out of the corner of his eyes. She huffs," As I was saying, before I was rudely interrupted." He throws his head back and laughs.
" The K-1TTy Cam is an extension of that computer I built I was telling you about." His eyes widen as he realizes what she was talking about," Oh, the SOLARIS?" The camera bounces again as she nods," Yep! Watch this!"
There's a click and the camera spins around as she sets it facing them on the dashboard. Now in view, is the bubbly fourteen year old Kinley in another fashion disaster - a white spaghetti top with an empire waist that covers her sunshine yellow shorts. Pink thigh high socks covered in Kirby cover most of her legs with blue converse covering her feet. Her dad leans sideways and blinks at the camera, while his daughter grins at it happily, the rest of the K-1TTy Cam still held in her hands.
The palm sized camera is hot pink and round just like the SOLARIS, but with metal kitty ears on top. One of the eyes on front are missing- assumably what now rests on his dashboard.
A strap holds the baseball shaped camera in place around her fingers.
Kinley grins proudly up at her Dad," It's a recorder. Everything recorded on this can be projected through the SOLARIS." Her Dad still blinks at it," But why a cat?" She huffs and looks away from his with ruffled feathers," Why not a cat?"
He blinks once more before turning to grin at her," Fair enough." Kinley goes into the specs while he turns back to the road when the light turns green," It's step one in my ultimate goal. I hope to eventually create virtual reality games for the SOLARIS. This camera will help me do that."
He nods, understanding where he minds going," To be able to accurately project movements and images." She grins," You got it!"
He shakes his head with a proud smile," I still can't believe you managed to do what thousands of inventors before you have failed to do."
Kinley shrugs while tweaking some knobs on the camera," They didn't want it as bad." He snorts out a laugh," Want a smoothie?"
He pulls into a smoothie place as he asks her. Kinley perks up in her seat," Raspberry Blast!" He grins and calls out the order to the lady behind the drive through speaker," A large raspberry blast and a large chocolate banana."
"$14.72", the lady calls back. "So What are you trying to accomplish by doing all of this?"
Kinley takes her smoothie from him and sips at it happily before saying," I'm going to bring VR into reality."
Her Dad smiles at her enthusiasm while she looks up at him with excited determined eyes. He ruffles her hair playfully," I have no doubt you'll succeed."
He pokes her on the nose with playful reprimand," Just don't go messing with your brain again. What did I say?"
Simultaneously they repeat his rule. Him playfully, her in exasperation," Don't play inventor with your brain. It's dangerous."
He smirks as he pulls out into the main road," That's right."
Kinley and her dad record their day as they go to the park and feed the ducks. He laughs and records as she's aggressively chased by one.
"Dadddddy!", she squeaks. He laughs and runs after her. He grabs her around the waist, swinging her up as he kicks at the duck," Shoo!"
He laughs and he runs back to the camera. Kinley is sitting on the gras with crosses legs and arms, pouting.
The last thing heard is his cheerful laughter as he turns off the camera.
