"This is so good. I don't know if it's my hunger or just the food itself."
"Oh it's definitely the food. Reynold is a great cook with years of experience." He said.
"Eat now before I eat it for you." I say and give him a wink. He obeys and eats. He eats with such elegance. I continue eating and I can't stop because of how good it is. I couldn't stop. I look up and see the sky. It was full of stars. I was stunned. It was so pretty.
"Did you see the stars?" I ask.
"No." He said. He looks up and smiles.
"It is prettier this time of year." He said. He focuses on the stars now. I turn to the stairs to see Reynold with two wine glasses with a bottle of cider. He places them down and pour us each a glass of cider. It was bubbling. I took the glass and took a sip. It was good. It was like juice, dancing around my lounge.
"Oh my gosh! This is amazing Reynold!" I say. He looks and smiles.
"This was made by my master Sir Kingston." He says. I looked surprised.
"Grey your dad made this?!" I ask almost yelling. He nods.
"Yeah it was the apples from our orchard," He says. I wasn't surprised that they had their own orchard.
"Well thank you for the pasta. It was absolutely divine." I say.
"No it was my pleasure cooking for you," he says.
"Reynold can I ask you a question?" I ask. He nods. Grey places his attention on me."Where did the spaghetti go to dance?" I say. He moves his head for confusion. Grey looks away to think. I give them a second.
"He goes to the meatball." I say. There was silence for a second. I blush of embarrassment.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Reynold bursts out laughing.
Grey and I surprised looked at him. Grey didn't even laugh so why did Reynold? Reynold realizes what he was doing and stopped.
"Pardon my rudeness. If you excuse me." Reynold says. He walks away bright red. Grey and I stare until he leaves.
"Wow. Reynold has a thing for bad jokes." Grey says. I look at him.
"It was not that bad!" I say almost yelling.
"Well you're lucky your cute," he says while taking a bite of pasta.
"That's the first time I see Reynold laughing and embarrassed," says Grey. I was thinking.
"REALLY?!" I say yelling now. Grey nods. Damn. Did Grey never ask him a funny joke or anyone. Because now that I think of my joke it was a terrible dad joke. If he laughed that hard he has a knack for bad jokes.
"So Grey, what type of music do you enjoy listening to?" I ask.
"To be completely honest I enjoy classical music." He says avoiding contact.
"Why are you lying to me?" I ask. He looks scared.
"Am not," he said. Once again looking nervous. I look around and he nudges my hand. I look down his plate and he is done. I have two bites left but I am full.
"Hey Grey do you got canoes?" I ask. He looks at me confused.
"Yeah? Why?" He says. I smile. I got an idea and a clue why he is acting this way.
"It's secret. Take me to the canoes."
