Time and Time Again

Portrait Problems

It was the next morning and I had just got off the bus and was walking into the college, I spent all last night thinking about what had happened! I even started to plan things out on paper but none of it made any sense!
I knew I couldn't let this linger on my mind all day, I needed to focus on my work, there wasn't much else to do.

Maybe it only effected me yesterday or maybe it was all a dream? A dream that felt real?

I walked into college and headed to art, another lesson with Liam, I couldn't wait! I walked towards art and spotted Raven sitting outside, I must be early. "Hey Raven" I said
"Hey girl what's going on?" She asked
"Not much" I replied
"Fairs, oh how was the rest of your first day yesterday, I forgot to ask?" She said. "Umm... well..."

I couldn't tell her about my power she would think I was insane and we've only just become friends.

"Well?" She probed

Think of something else Lauren, think of something else to say

"Umm.. I made a new friend in Biology!" I said quickly.
"That's good, who is it? Anyone I know?" She asked
"His name's Matt, Matt Parker" I say, Raven paused for a moment, thinking, before saying "Nope never heard of him before, I know ! Ask him to hang around at lunch I'll meet him then!"
"Sure!" I say smiling at her. Raven loves meeting new people. I sat down next to Raven and waited for class to start.

Around 5 minutes later a voice was heard from down the other end of the corridor."Morning girls let's get going!" Said Mr.Harris , I turned around to see him walking down the corridor towards us and approaching the classroom door. He unlocked the door and walked inside holding the door open for us, Raven and I walked inside and sat down in our seats. I started to get out my things and started sketching on my pad whilst waiting for the class to start.
"Wow that's amazing!" I jump hearing a voice right next to me, I look up to did it's Liam "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you." He said chuckling.
"That's alright" I say.
"But seriously you have talent!" He says. "Thank....thank you!" I say stammering a little.

For god's sake Lauren stop blushing!

"Right class, today we are going to do a partner task!" Informed Mr. Harris from the front of the room, everyone in the class stopped what they were doing and payed attention. "I want you all to make a portrait of your partner, a simple exercise, I want you to go as in detail as possible!" Said Mr.Harris looking at us all. "You may chose any form you wish to, paint, watercolour, chalk or the simple pencil, your choice, off you go!" He said raising his arms signalling us to get going.

Omg that means I have to draw Liam and he has to draw me!

The class and I got out of our seats and went to get your equipment. I walked over to get a canvas and then went back to my seat to find my set of art pencils in my bag. Sketching was probably my best form of art and I wanted to make Liam look perfect! As I started to draw, I noticed Liam had come back with a canvas and paints, looks like he chose to paint me!

It was about halfway through the lesson and I had finished Liam's general outline and had begun adding serious details of his face. Meaning that I had to glance at his face every few minutes to work out what to draw and where. A couple of times I would be looking at him and he would turn to look at me and we caught each others eye before looking away quickly embarrassed. I looked at Raven a few times who kept nodding and smiling at me knowing about our awkward encounters and probably shipping us both. Honestly that girl!

About halfway through the lesson the picture was starting to look really good and I was loving the way Liam looked upon my canvas.

I hope he likes the drawing of himself... What am I saying what if he hates it... What if he hates me!?!?

I started to work on more details on Liam's portrait, I discovered that his beautiful eyes were always lit up, there were little creases at the corners of his mouth as he smiled that super hot and cute smile, The muscles in his head frowned as he was concentrating on drawing me, and I could go on all day on how perfect and wonderful he looked.

We only had 15 minutes until the end of the lesson and the portrait of him was looking really good, I had added pen lines in to make it look more detailed. I just knew he was going to love it! I looked and admired my work and noticed from the corner of my eye the Liam was leaning in towards me.

Omg I was blushing so much, ahhhh

I saw him get closer and closer like he was trying to have a peep at my work and I couldn't breathe ! I looked in the opposite direction pretending not to notice and that's when I heard it.

Splash!

I looked back at my work quickly and realised Liam had knocked over his water pot all over my work, water had splashed all over my things and all over my portrait of him, the pen detail had smudged and was slowly moving across the canvas along with the water, the pencil marks were barely visible and the canvas was dripping wet, Liam no longer looked like Liam, he looked like... a... monster... I stared in shock, not sure what to do or what to think!

No...

"I'm so so so sorry Lauren I really am!" Liam was standing beside me practically begging me to not hate him. But I couldn't say anything, I just stood there stuck still, my work had gone, ruined in an instant. "Lauren I am so sorry please say something!" Liam yelled next to me, the class had turned to look at us at this point and all stared in shock, I noticed the blonde girl at the front Chloe was laughing. "Haha Liam how do you put up with her, she's so clumsy she just throws water over her work, she was probably aiming for yours but she's so stupid she missed hahaha" Chloe yelled across the classroom.

God that girl is such a bitch!

A few members of the class started laughing which set more people off, I was a laughing stock!
"Right class settle down and get back to work, Lauren I suggest you go get some paper towels" said Mr. Harris. I nodded and slowly walked out the room.
