Y/n POV
Today was the day you were finally graduating high school. You were looking at yourself in your mirror. You wanted to look your best even if you were wearing a black graduation gown that made you look like you were attending Hogwarts.
You sighed at yourself, you were putting in so much effort into looking good when the one person you were trying to impress wasn't even going to be there. You and your boyfriend Ethan have a long distance relationship and after he graduated (which was a year before you) he moved to LA to live his dreams.
"Y/n! Are you done yet?" Your older brother Ashley yelled from the hallway. He was on tour with his band and they arranged tour so that he wouldn't miss your graduation.
"Yep!" You yelled and took one final glance and yourself before rushing out of your room. Your parents left early to make sure them and Ashley had good seats. Ashley shook his head and you gave him the glare before you both laughed and went to his car.
Time skip to when you get there
A long time went by and it was finally your turn to get your diploma. You also had to give a speech. Half of you wanted to say "go team woop woop " and be done with it, but the other half knew you had to give an actual speech. You were deep in thought holding the paper that had the speech you wrote in your hands. When you heard your name.
"Y/n Purdy." The principal called. Loud claps were heard, and you even heard a voice you recognized as Ashley scream "HEY THATS MY SISTER!" Followed by a "Ashley shh." From your mother.
You awkwardly walked on stage and grabbed your diploma. You went behind the podium and looked out into the crowd after glancing at your speech.
"Wow. I never thought I would be standing up here,giving a speech at my graduation. I don't really know what I'm doing so I'm just gonna thank some people for getting me where I am. My mom and dad, thanks for giving birth to me," there were a few chuckles in the crowd, "you were always there for me and made sure I was doing what I was supposed to be doing and without that I'd probably be in elementary school instead of graduating. Next to my brother Ashley for never giving up on me and always making sure I was having fun. To all my teachers thank you for putting up with me, I bet your glad I'm not coming back. Thanks to all my friends for being there when I needed you guys. Last but not least, thank you to my boyfriend Ethan, who couldn't be here because he's living his dream in LA. Ethan you are my #1, you were there for me when no one else was, you made me smile when I was sad. You are the best and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us."
I walked away from the podium and when to the center of the stage where Ashley was going to put my cap on me. I got there and I was surprised.
Ethan!
Ethan was walking towards me with my cap in his hands. He placed the cap on my head and gave me kiss. "I love you so much Y/n"
