Chapter 8: Compromise

[(Y/N)'s POV, Ozpin's Tower]

As we ascended the tower with Team RWBY my mind was on high alert. Every movement the humans made, I observed.

Me: "My Queen if they attack please make your escape without me. If I survive I will-"

Dione: "No. We will get through this together my loyal guard. I will not lose you to some lower species."

Me: "I am not worthy of your kindness, My Queen."

The doors to the elevator opened and I instantly noticed four of the robots I had seen the night I was "captured". I began raising my tail to be able to attack quickly, only for Dione to stop me.

Dione: "Hold on. Let's hear what they need to say, then decide to attack if needed."

Me: "Yes My Queen."

We walked forward and stood in front of the desk, where Ozpin sat, Ironwood stood beside the desk along with a woman that looked very much like Weiss.

Weiss: "Winter? What are you-"

Winter: "Weiss please step away from the two Faunus, along with your team."

Ozpin raised his hand to tell them to stop.

Ozpin: "Now that won't be necessary. We can solve this in a civil manner, correct?"

He looked at us with a small smile.

Dione: "I believe that depends on the matter you wish to discuss."

Ozpin: "I believe you two know what this is about. The reason you were originally brought here, (Y/N)."

I slowly opened and closed my hands, loosening my claws in case I need to attack quickly.

Dione: "So your business is with only my brother? Then why call me here as well?"

Ozpin: "That is because I wished to address both of you since you both are of the same... heritage. The disappearances happening all over Vale are your doing, are they not?"

Dione chuckled.

Dione: "How could it possibly be us? We haven't left this campus since we arrived."

Ozpin: "That is indeed a good point. But, I believe you have some kind of influence over the creatures that have been sighted recently."

Dione: "And what proof do you have? Our tails? That's rather rude. By that logic, a wolf Faunus would be related to a Beowulf simply because they shared a trait."

Ozpin sighed.

Ozpin: "That... is yet another good point. However-"

Dione: "We have been nothing but kind and obedient since we arrived. My brother was chained in an arena for a whole night without food or water. He was assaulted without him doing a single thing wrong. If anything we should be the ones demanding answers."

Ozpin was obviously at a loss of what to say. He had no proof besides the fact we looked like our original selves slightly.

Ironwood: "Enough of this! We know you are the cause of all these people disappearing! You will NOT talk your way out of this! Knights!"

The robots suddenly aimed their rifles at us. I wrapped my tail around Dione's waist and pulled her towards me, then wrapped her in my arms to shield her. I let off an aggressive hiss warning everyone to stay back. I could tell the look on my face must've changed dramatically due to the shocked faces of Team RWBY who had backed away from us. The look of a feral beast was known to scare humans, no matter what animal.
