Chapter 12: Alien vs Predator

I slowly made my way in the direction of the scent. I had convinced Dione and the younglings to go back to Beacon while I investigated. The smell was getting stronger as I came to the entrance of an alleyway. I slowed my pace as I entered the alley and looked for any clues of the source of the scent. After continuing halfway down the alley I came across a pool of blood, rather large in size. As I began examining it I noticed a droplet fall from above me. I looked up and saw something I had seen only once in my life. There was a human strung up by its feet, and entirely skinned.

Me: "My Queen, it's a Yautja."

Dione; "Return to Beacon immediately."

I thought for a moment.

Me: "My Queen if I do, there is a chance it might follow me."

Dione: "That. is. an. order."

Her voice was much louder.

Me: "Understood."

I looked around once more before I turned around and began walking out of the alley. However, I was stopped short by a silhouette much larger than any human. I recognized the shape, the tall build, the bulky helmet, and the shoulder cannon. It knew the scent would attract me. I turned my head slightly and looked behind me. As I suspected, there were two. The other was cloaked, but with a little strain on the eyes I could see the distortion.

Me: "My Queen... I am sorry for not following your orders."

I knew I couldn't beat two of these creatures, they were incredible hunters, and unmatched in one on one combat. I've only ever killed one before, and just barely. Of course, I wouldn't go down without a fight, however I needed to get to an open space. Without hesitation I lunged at the hunter in front of me, hoping to take it by surprise, however it was ready. The wrist blades on its gauntlet shot out and it began to swing. I quickly jumped and landed on the wall, my claws digging into the bricks. I then jumped to the other wall and quickly jumped out onto the open street. As I landed I turned around to face the Yautja, only to see a bladed disc flying towards me. I quickly ducked and leaped at the predator again. This time it pulled out that damned extendable spear. It tried to stab at me before I got too close but I moved around it and used my tail to grab onto it as I continued forward. Before the creature could let go of the spear in time I swiped at it with my claws, only managing to scratch across its mask enough to leave shallow marks as it moved backwards. I ripped the spear out of the predator's hand and transfer the spear into my hand from my tail. Without hesitation I threw the spear back at the predator. It just barely dodged to the side and let off a growl. The other Yaujta wasn't attacking, it was only watching. I slowly lowered my stance and got ready to sprint at the creature. Suddenly three red dots aimed at my chest. This was the shoulder cannon aiming, wasn't it? I rushed the hunter, claws at the ready. The cannon let off a blast of plasma that hurled towards my chest, luckily I dodged then leaped at the Yautja. It moved to the side, trying to avoid the attack, however I wasn't aiming to attack it. As I passed over the creature I grabbed onto the shoulder cannon and ripped it from its armor. As I landed behind the creature I spun around, sweeping its legs with my tail. As the Yautja fell to the ground it let off a growl. Without hesitation I aimed my tail at the hunter and drove my tail's blade into its chest. It roared in pain as I ripped my tail out of its chest then drove my hand into the wound and grabbed onto, what I believe is, it's heart. Ripping the organ out I then crushed it in my hand. I was absolutely covered in this green blood like substance, it smelled horrible. I threw the crushed organ onto the ground and looked around for the other predator. I couldn't see the distortion and the blood was so potent I couldn't make any other scents out. I suddenly heard a metallic shift from behind me. I tried to turn around but before I could a searing pain went through the right side of my abdomen. I screamed in pain as I saw the two blades stick out of my abdomen and spray my light green blood onto the ground. The acid burnt into the ground but simply rolled down my skin. I hissed as I twisted my body in order to elbow my attacker. I made contact with its mask and made it stumble backwards. I quickly moved away from the predator and tried to settle myself. As soon as I saw the other Yautja I lowered my stance as much as I could, given my injury. The new one was definitely the better of the two. It had barely any armor but had a lot of trophies hanging around it's neck. The only weapon I could see on it was the wrist blades, which were still covered in my blood. Before I could even think of a plan, I fell to my knees. I was losing too much blood.

Me: "D-Damn this human body."

The Yautja began slowly making its way towards me. I looked up at the creature and hissed. I slowly put my hand over my wound. The blood was still flowing at an alarming rate. As my attacker stood in front of me, it slowly raised its blades. In one last effort to spite the Yautja I took my blood covered hand and flung the acidic liquid at its abdomen, where there was no armor. It roared as its skin began to burn, making it try to back away. I grabbed onto its ankle with my blood soaked hand and pulled with the last of my strength. The combination of the acid burning and me pulling on its leg effectively tripped the hunter. With extreme effort I managed to crawl on top of the Yautja. I then grabbed onto its mask and ripped it off. The creature roared in my face, it's last mistake. I hissed and opened my mouth slightly. I felt my inner jaw shoot out from the back of my throat, easily piercing the flesh, bone, and brain of the Yautja making it go still. As my inner mouth retracted I rolled over onto the asphalt.

Me: "My Queen. The Yautja are dead. But I am not going to make it. I have fulfilled my purpose. Thank you, my Queen."

I felt my eyelids grow heavy as I sent my final message to Dione. My only regret was that I did not stand by my Queen to the end.
