Chapter 9

(alexis's pov)

"c-Connor I barely know you," I say trembling. my boyfriend's best friend just confessed his love for me- what else was I supposed to do? "but I know you please let's run away!" he pleads. "I can't I'm with jc," I say crying. what the hell. I understand he is dying but this isn't ok.

(Connor's pov)

I just told alexis I loved her but she rejected me. not only was I dying but I lost the one I loved. well shit. "mam you have to leave now," a nurse calmly says. with her head sunk low she left.

"nurse, how am I supposed to spend the six months I have left?" I ask. "that's up to your parents and with that my mom an dad walked in. my moms eyes were bloodshot, like she hadn't slept in days. and my dads face was red and blotchy. I never expected to see my parents like this.

"hi Connor," my mom says softly crying. she holds my hand and rubs it. I know how hard this is for her. I mean her son is DYING for gods sake!

"is there really no way to save him?" my dad asks the nurse frantically. "well that's what I wanted to discuss with you. there are two options. Connor here can be put on pain medication and live and happy and pain-free six months. however, there is a new form of therapy for Connors case. there is this medicine that has to be injected into his blood slowly by the minute for two months. this drug is not exactly known to work though. it's been used about 10 times but only 4 of our patients have been cured completely, the rest have died after the 4 months they had left." the nurse spills. "I'll leave you to discuss now"

my dad rubs his face in pain. "con do you want to do this?" he asks with pain in his voice. "I don't know guys," I say trembling. I thought about alexis. I couldn't bear seeing her with jc. I just didn't know what to do.

(jc's pov)

Lexi came out of Connors room softly sobbing. "What happened baby?" I ask concerned. "nothing let's go home," she lied. nothing doesn't make you cry like that but I couldn't argue with her. on our way out I asked her mom if she could sleepover. her mom agreed and we left for home. ricky decided to stay the night with Connor.

once we got home kian practically passed out on the couch. alexis hasn't said a word so I took her to my room. we got ready for bed and we started to talk.

"lex please tell me what happened," I ask in concern. "c-Connor told me he loves me and he wants to run away with me." she cries. I felt a wave of jealously come over me. she was mine. "and what did you say?" I ask quite concerned. she turns around and gives me a weak smile. "i told him that I'm with you".

after that we cuddled and fell asleep in each other's arms.
