I woke up

I heard you crying

Small sobs and sniffles from behind the bedroom door

It was heartbreaking to hear

But probably more heartbreaking to feel

I slid off the sofa and knocked on the bedroom door

You didn't answer

I walked in

You lay snuggled into the yellow blanket, it was drenched in tears

I pulled it off you

You tried to grab it but I held you back

I told you that you shouldn't cuddle wet things or you would get ill

But you wanted it anyway

So I gave it back to you

You were too cute

I left the room, I heard your cries return. You probably thought I went back to bed

I returned with a glass of water, telling you that tears make you dehydrated and you should drink up

You drank it all quickly

You started crying again
