"You need to be careful that no one will see you" Ashlyn or as I call her Ash reminded me.

I looked back at the short Brown haired girl as I was about to take my first glance into the world.

Okay, I should give you some backstory. At age eleven I was kicked out of my home. I was taken in by the R.W.P organization. R.P.W stands for Real World Preparation. They take in homeless kids and teens and prepare them to help pass on the organization as well as to possibly, in the event of war help to rebuild after. I am in training to help in wars, well more like help after wars or become a gatherer. Oh yeah, gatherer's are people who are trained like me to collect resources and possibly intel from the outside. Currently, I'm looking at a ladder that will lead me into a sewer which goes to the outside world. I'm for the first time about to see what the outside looks like. I pause slightly to think about what I imagine it to be like. As I take the first step and then another I soon wasn't thinking but stepping ready to see beyond the organization and sewers. Before I knew it, I was in the sewers. I must say, for only being in here a few times the smell and surroundings seemed all too familiar. The stench that can only be described as a mix of chlorine and burned trash mixed with other materials is foul but, seems familiar. The old cement that lined the tall yet slimy tunnel, only wide enough to walk across. It all makes it a very distinct place. I walked quickly but carefully along the edge, making sure not to fall until I reached our ladder. I climbed fast, with no hesitation, with Ash close behind me, finally making it onto the long quiet street. I did as Ash had previously told me during our training earlier and while ducking behind the closest building, I was also making sure we wouldn't be seen. We continued to stick with the back streets and the shadows like this until we reached the borderline of a small currently dark, forest. We walked through the small forest and then could see a small store. We went in the back and took some fresh fruit and vegetables that had been left there. We also took microwavable meals and fast cooking items.

In two weeks I'll be seventeen and able to be officially a gatherer. We went back down the same sewer we entered through. We went through the dark smelly tight tunnels again. I soon reached the white-ish gray large door to re-enter the organization or honestly, better known as my home.

It's going to be a long day for me, even though it is not Birthday quite yet, they are moving me to the section where the workers live. Well more like sleep. We won't have a ton of time to move into the new dorm and get situated but, either way, it makes me happy. I walked down the hall of the thirteen to sixteen year old dorms again this time to pack up my stuff. I would be leaving behind my best friend, Trevor but, not for long. Fortunately for him and myself, he turns seventeen in a month. I walked calmly into the room that I could only call mine for another few hours and then climbed up to the bunk above Trevor and grabbed the things that would go with me from there. Which consisted of my plain black pillowcase, my black veil brides banket as well as a few other random items before going to the dresser. I then took out my clothing and grabbed a few essentials. Things I knew I would need such as my hairbrush. With all my things packed up I lifted them up and started walking down the hall and through first the door and then the back hallway labeled "staff only" and then I turned right down another hall until I found the door labeled "Gatherers" I entered and wandered around till I found the door with my name on it.
