Chapter 7- Dinner Time

Matt's POV
My parents cannot come here today, I'm not prepared for this. If they find out that Miranda and I aren't head over heels in love with each other they will probably flip out. Not many people know this, really just Miranda and her parents, but my parents don't like me very much. They always wanted me to be perfect and when I did something they didn't like then they hit me. Not enough to leave a mark usually but if it was then it was in a place that was easy to hide. I'm scared of how they are going to react if they see that me and Miranda aren't as close as they would like but I don't know how they thought we would be, she's only 14 not nearly old enough to be in love and I hate the fact that I had been forced into this marriage. Miranda is an amazing person and very beautiful but I don't know if I can ever love her like I'm supposed to. I will admit that I may be getting s little bit of a crush on her but that's just a small thing.
"Hey Miranda could I talk to you in the hallway for a second?" I turned to her sitting at the table with a frightened look on her face. She's probably just as afraid of how my parents will react as I am.
"Yep!" She quickly jumped up and skipped over trying to hide how terrified she was. I grab her hand and and take her into the hallway.
"We have to do something. We will be in so much trouble by my parents if we aren't crazy about each other." She nodded her head quickly.
"I completely understand but what can we do?" Hmm... what can we do.
"I know, we can like hold hands during dinner and then every once in a while I'll whisper something to you and you can giggle like it was something funny. You could even blush a little if you know how to do that." Wow I don't know where that plan came from but it was a good one.
"That's a great idea! How did you think of that?" I don't even know.
"Honestly I have no idea." She giggled and that make me smile. What? Like I said I may have a small crush.
"Lest head back in so we won't look like we're arriving late if our parents arrive." We head back into the dining room. As we took out seats the doors open and my parents walk in. I'm so scared I wish I could get out of this.
~~~~~~~After Dinner~~~~~~~
"Well I think the plan worked" I say to Miranda after our parents have left the dinning room and were walking together back to our rooms.
"Let's hope they don't see right through it." I'm scared Miranda's parents might say something also.
"Let's hope. Goodnight Miranda." I hadn't realized we were already at her door. I kissed her cheek and walked away.
"Goodnight Matt."
