Matt's POV
"YOU DID WHAT?" The queen shouted at me her eyes glaring daggers even from across the room. That folks, is how prince Mathew dies. "My daughter better have just imagined that or you will be locked inside the palace walls until you and my daughter are married.
"No ma'am she was not imagining that. I am sorry and I regret my actions." I really did. "Its just that I've known Hazel for so long and she is actually my age. Miranda is only 2 years old, I am 6. I will never leave the palace walls ever again I promise." I hated to do it but i knew it would protect Hazel. Plus, no matter what I was going to marry Miranda so I should stop wasting my time with Hazel. Maybe when we get older I could learn to love Miranda more as a friend. I doubt I will ever love her as a wife though, that love is reserved for Hazel.
"How responsble of you Matt." I heard the king say as he walks in the doors and joins his wife. I notice that Miranda is nowhere in sight.
"Thank you sir." I bowed my head slightly to show more respect. "May I be excused? I would like to spend some time with Miranda." I will go find her and try to apologize.
"Of course. She is in her room, have fun." The king and queen looked pleased as I slowly made my way out of the throne room. I quickly make my way to Miranda's room. I knock on the door and she says to come in. I see her look up with teas streaming down her face. I think she was expecting one of her parents.
"What do you want?" she quickly wiped the tears from her face. I have to admit that she already acts like a 6 year old, she doesn't want the boy she likes to see her crying.
"I came to apologize. I never should have tried to see Hazel. That was a bad decision on my part and I hope you can forgive me. I will never see her ever again." I really hope we can get past this, I don't want to have a marriage filled with anger.
"Of course I can forgive you Matty." She's never called me that before. I wonder where that came from.
"I'm glad." I got up and kissed her on the cheek before leaving. As soon as I get into the hallway I sigh deeply and run to my room. I'm not leaving until tomorrow.
+_+ The Next Morning +_+
"Prince Matt? Are you awake?" I am now. If they thought I was asleep they shouldn't have knocked on my door and yelled my name. "I have a letter from some girl named Hazel Levesque, a guard gave it to the queen this morning." a note from Hazel? Delivered to the palace? This must be important. I open the door and quickly grab the letter and thank the servant who delivered it. I quickly start reading.
"Mathew, I am writing to inform you that I am moving away. I am not helping you any by being here. I wish you a life full of happiness and health with you future wife. Please do not try to find me. Goodbye. -Hazel L." She's leaving. Without realizing it I have started to cry, slowly. This is better for both of us to find happiness with people we are actually aloud to be with, I know that. I just wish I had gotten the chance to say goodbye in person.
