Hannah and her loyal dog, Steve, were walking down the path and noticed a crowd. They push their way through and see the 2nd Continental Convention of 1775 through the window. She recognized many of the men – George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Hancock. An unfamiliar man walks into the room through the back door. “Hello, my name is Mitch Swanson,” he says, bowing. “I am a representative from New Hampshire and I have some suggestions for you fine group of gentlemen,” he continued, “Let me see what you have so far.”

Mitch struts to the front of the room and Benjamin Franklin hands him the Declaration. Mitch puts his hand to his chin and says “Hmmm! ‘We hold these truths to be self evident’ – a fine start! How about THIS?!” and with that, he springs out of the room, tucking the precious document in his coat pocket as he ran through the crowd.

Everyone was stunned, but Hannah was the first to recover and ran in pursuit of Mitch. Soon she came upon a small cottage where a British flag waved. Inside, she saw Mitch talking to a few redcoats. Then he threw the Declaration down in disgust, and it landed in the furnace. “Nooo!” Hannah yelled.

She flung the door open and Steve ran inside barking, but as soon as he crossed the doorway, he disappeared. On instinct, she ran after him and disappeared as well.
