Hannah popped up inside of the lobby of a big building. She walked around the building and mentally noted that all the rooms were painted strange and different colors. She kept on going up the stairs into each different room until she saw a large man that exited a door with a sign that read, "MANAGER." He gasped and said, "Eva! There you are! We have been looking all over for you, where were you?"
"Uhh-" Hannah said.
"Oh never mind that, we need you to go paint a room in this house. Here is the address," The man interrupted handing her a piece of paper.
"But I-"
"Now go! Shoo! Hurry! You will be late!" The man interrupted once more.
Hannah sighed, let her head hang down, and slowly walked out the door and got inside the company chariot. The chariot and the building both had signs on them that read, "PETER'S PAINTING: painting places pretty." Hannah made it to the house and the owner led her to a child's room. "I would like you to paint this room purple for my daughter's birthday," he said. Hannah got to work and after just a couple of hours, the room was perfectly purple. "Good job, the room looks very nice," he said.
"You shouldn't go in there until the room is dry which shouldn't be too long from now. It wouldn't be good for you to inhale the fumes. Here is the bill," Hannah said, handing him the bill.
"Whoa!" The man shouted. "I've had this company paint for me before, so why is the bill so high!" he continued.
Before Hannah could even shrug, his wife entered the room, put a hand on his shoulder, and replied, "Don't you remember hon, the Townshend Act puts a tax on paint, so it's is going to cost more for them and now more for us to pay for the resources." Hannah thanked her and took notes as she walked out the door and into another portal.
As she entered the portal she heard the man answer, "At least the Stamp Act and the Sugar Act were repealed in 1766. We should start to boycott."
