I wake up to a crash of glass coming from downstairs. I sit up on my bed and look around my surroundings, when my eyes adjust to the light I put my slippers on and walk downstairs to see what happened. The entire living room was ruined. Our TV smashed on the floor, couches flipped over, our glass table was broken as well as our patio door. The wall had unusual strikes in them and so did our floor.
"Mom!" I panic looking around. I walk over the glass and around the couches entering the kitchen.
"Mom!" I yell again.
I walk up stairs to her room. She wasn't there.
"Mom!" I scream at the top of my lungs while my breathing gets deeper.
I look around again and run my fingers through my hair. I look outside her bedroom window. Her car was there. She never walked anywhere, she didn't even like walking upstairs to her room. I feel my face burn red and sweat start dripping down from my forehead.
"Mom!" I yell once more. Still no answer.
I run to my room and pick up my phone. I open my contacts and press on my moms name. It goes straight to voice mail.
"Mom where are you? Why is the house a mess? Please call me back."
I hang up and go straight to Taras' number.
'RING RING'
Tara: Hello?
Me: Tara please come over. My mom isn't here but her car is and she won't answer her phone. The house is trashed and our door is smashed op-.....
Tara: Woah Woah Woah Woah wait what happened.
Me: Just hurry up!
Tara: Okay okay i'll see you when I get there.
I hang up the phone and run back downstairs.
"What?" I whisper to myself in shock.
It all went away. Everything was back to normal. The glass was fixed and the couches were up on it's legs.
"What!" I yell.
Everything was gone except for the strikes in the wall. I run over to the strike.
"What is this?" I whisper.
"Are you alright is everything okay?" Tara asks walking in.
I turn around and look at her.
"I thought you said that the house was a mess." She said.
"It was, I swear, it was here a few minutes ago... before you came." I say pointing around.
"Carmen..."
"Tara! it was I swear, and I can't find my mom anywhere."
"Carmen, you're over over exaggerateing, she might be at a friends house or something. She could have gotten picked up or something."
"Fine, don't believe me then." I say.
"Well, I've got other places to be, Carmen, call me when something bad actually happens." She walks away exiting out of the house.
"Are you serious, Tara?"
The lights start to dim down.
"Hello?" I shout.
'I know where your mother is.'
I hear a soft voice whisper into my ear making me shiver.
"Who's there?" I turn around.
I hear a crash come from the kitchen. It was glass again. I run over to the kitchen and sneak my head through. The lights were off but a beam of light was shining on the floor. I slowly make my way to the light and kneel down on my knee. I reach my hand to touch it.
"OW!"
The light shocked me, I grab my hand and take a step back.
"What is that?"
The blue ray slowly disappears. I take a step back not knowing what to do. I run up to my room and lock the door behind me.
"What is going on?" I question myself.
All of a sudden my lamp starts plunging towards me.
"Ahhh!" I scream putting out my hands to protect myself from the glass. But the lamp never came towards me. My eyes were closed but I felt air surrounding me. I slowly open my eyes and gasped to the sight of what I was seeing. This dark blue mist was coming from my hands. I feel my eyes widen and pull my hands away causing the lamp to smash to the ground.
I cover my mouth and sit on my bed. I feel tears start to flow down my cheeks. I pick ip my phone and try to call my mom again.
Voice mail again.
"Mom?" I cry, "Where are you, when are you coming home, I don't know what's going on right now. First there was the house being a mess then the blue smoke, then my lamp and then the mist, mom, I need you to be here. Please call me back."
I hang up and throw my phone on my bed, placing my hands on my head.
"Why is this happening to me, what is going on?"
I lay back down on my bed and turn over forcing myself to take a nap and hope that my mom would be back and tell me what's going on.
