°°°° Amora °°°°
I woke up to the sound of steady beeping. Thinking it was my alarm clock, I reached over without opening my eyes and hit it. Except it was warm and soft, and I felt it move.
Not an alarm clock.
Is that a....face?
I shot up, and monitors around me beeped wildly.
I opened my eyes and saw Austin laying, zonked out on the bedside table. A small smile graced my face as a few nurses hurried in, having heard the beeping.
They seemed to relax when they saw I was awake.
"Hun," the lead nurse started. "do you remember what happened?" Her eyes were gentle, and curious.
I tried to think back, and I got a flash of my dad on top of me. I went pale, and felt nauseous.
Austin sat up, rubbing his eyes, before he saw that I was up.
"Mora!" His voice was low, and I closed my eyes at the sound. I got a flash of his face among police as my dad was pulled off, and I relaxed.
He was there.
I relaxed and looked at him as he hugged me, and I smiled, feeling safe. The nurse's gently nudged him away as they did their hourly check up on my vitals.
He didn't look away from me, and I felt his burning gaze. He had on his leather jacket, and a helmet was seated beside him. I chuckled wen I saw the mess of his hair.
When the nurses left, his face filled with concern.
"Mora...? How are you feeling?" Damn male sleepy voices. They're fucking hot.
"I..." My voice was stiff. "I'm okay... I think.. I don't fully remember.."
He sighed in relief. "That's good. Uh.. your dad was arrested. He's in court tomorrow."
I nod, and breathed out. I wouldn't have to deal with my dad again, not for a long time.
"When can I leave?" The words leave my mouth quickly, before I can stop them. I needed to get back to fighting before I got rusty, and ran out of money. Without dad's income, money would diminish fast.
He seemed taken aback. "I guess whenever you're cleared. I have to recommend that you stay in bed. I can't take you on my bike until you're healed up. I don't want you falling off." His voice was teasing at the end, and it mad me smile.
"Wait, on your bike?" I asked curiously.
"I can't let you walk home, especially to that place. It's gonna ache when you walk in." There was a knowing tone in his voice, but he seemed guarded so I didn't ask.
"Besides, I can't have you on my conscience. If you got hurt on my watch three times in a week, I'd blame myself." He winked, and I saw he was back to his old self.
"How long was I asleep?" I asked, curious. I felt like I'd slept for an eternity.
"They had to sedate you, and you were out for two days. You took a swing at the paramedics in the bus, knocked one out. You'll have to show me that one, princess." I blushed a bit. I must've been out of it.
I was starting to feel sleepy when the nurse or something in my IV. She watched as I looked to Austin, who didn't seem worried as much, so I laid down as sleep claws into me.
As I feel asleep, I managed to mumble, "Thank you for saving me." And I heard him chuckle. I must've sounded drink.
Just as I feel asleep, I heard him speak. "Anytime, princess."
