Chapter 3

I was sprawled across the bitterly cold floor, and awoke with a throbbing head pain. It seemed as if I had passed out on the kitchen floor, what made matters worse, it wasn't my kitchen floor.

I can not recall any memory after talking to Bobby that night, at least I'm safe as it was no strangers house. For some obscure reason I seemed to be at Nicole's house, yet no one was in sight.

Gradually I managed to pull my self together, to be able to stand on my own two feet. My throat was painfully dry, so I scavenged for a glass, filled my glass with water and drank as if I hadn't seen water before.

It was eleven o'clock in the morning and I started to hear foot steps coming from upstairs, the vintage wooden floor was creaking and it seemed like there was more than just Nicole in the house.

I turn around from the kitchen sink and saw two hungover faces similar to mine barely standing, half asleep in the doorway. It was Lucy and Nicole, they were staring at me with blank expressions.

'Morning.' I managed to mumble.

'Morning.' They grunted back to me.

As I stand their pressurising my head with my hands, I tried to recollect my distant memories, but it was no use. They had disappeared, along with some brain cells, after the carnage of last night.

'So how was your night then Lilly? You looked as if you had fun.' Lucy said with a sarcastic tone, as if she knew something I didn't.

'I have no memory of last night, what happened? Oh no was I that bad?'I was starting to become extremely apprehensive. I was sick to the thought that I was not the one controlling my body last night, or my memory.

Nicole just laughed 'Let's just say your dancing skills were a bit out of the ordinary and it might take a while for your legs to heal, because the amount of bruises you have from the countless amount of times you fell over.'

'Yeah we had to call a cab for you, after you passed out on the bench outside and we just chucked you into the kitchen and went to bed, we did give you a blanket .' Lucy said it in a concerning way, as if she felt bad for just leaving me on the kitchen floor.

Red with embarrassment all I hoped for is that Bobby never saw any of my abnormal behaviour.

I apologised to Nicole and Lucy for my behaviour, I felt very apologetic and then I called a taxi to come pick me up.

We all sat and chatted for ages till the taxi came and although the night ended awful I strangely loved the feeling of going out, dancing, drinking and having just odd conversations with my friends and the friendly strangers.

'So who's that boy.' Nicole added with a sincere smile.

'Yeah he seemed really lovely.'

Lucy was completely right, he was lovely.

'His name is Bobby, he's just an old friend.' As soon as I said it, the girls gave me a sarcastic smile and moved on with their conversations, as they knew the truth and deep down, I did too.

The taxi pulled up at twelve thirty and I excruciatingly clawed my heels on my blood drenched feet and said goodbye to Nicole and Lucy and hobbled to the taxi.

This half an hour journey is dragging me to boredom, I yearn for my own bed with the velvet like quilt, which is the best remedy for my bruised and weak body.

While I try to waste time I spontaneously look at my messages then my emails, but my emails almost doesn't exist, as I rarely get emails.

To my utter sock and devastation, I have an email. It's from my university, they want to have a meeting with me about my educational options.

My heart sank, my hands start shaking and my breathing has become rapidly out of control.

It means I'm failing. They're kicking me out. I know it. I've tried so hard I cannot comprehend my emotions right now, as my education means everything to me. I was half way through my masters in physics.

The taxi approaches my dull house and I drag my numb feet out. I hand the money to the driver and filled with fear, I run into my house slam the door behind me and throw my lethargic body to the nearest bed.
