The Coolest.

"Shelly, come down here for a second!" My mom yelled from the kitchen

"Coming!" I responded as I made my way down stairs.

"Avins waiting outside for you, he said something about going to the zoo to see the new polar bear exhibit"

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot"I said making my way to the door and i grabbed my bag I kissed my mom goodbye and left.

Avin was sitting there on our porch staring at nothing. He had on  these huge thick rimmed glasses, a Hawaiian T-shirt and a pair of high waters.

"What the hell are you wearing "I said eyeing him and his outfit of choice.

He turned around and smiled at me one of those smiles that you know brought nothing but trouble.

"Did she buy it?" He said as we both started walking in the opposite direction of the zoo.

"Of course she did, She believes everything you say.If I said ' Avin took me to see Disney on Ice in New york shed believe you"

He laughed "Not even do you know how far New york is from California"

"Do you know how long the Zoo is from Greenwood. Definitely not walking distance from our house at least not for a couple of 11 year old "

" Yeah Yeah whatever. Anyway are you prepared to see the most coolest thing you've ever seen in your entire life" Avin said with a twinkle in his eye.

"I'm sure I've seen alot of cool things in my life remember that time we went to the carnival and we saw that one guy carry 3 people on his feet while balancing on a tight rope. That was the coolest!"

"That was cool.."he said then paused "but not as cool as what I'm  about to show you. So stop slow dragging were almost there" He grabbed my hand pulling me toward the direction of emerest forest.

"Hey!" I said digging my feet into the ground so that we had to come into a hault.

"What?" Avin said "Were almost there"

"My mom told me to never ever ever even if my life depended on it to go into this forest "

"Are you going to listen to everything your mom says Shell? Take a leap of faith you trust me dont you." He said as I stared him down, my suspicious brown eyes clashed with his smiling green ones.This could've gone on for hours but I gave in.

"Fine!" I said "But so help me god Avin if my mom find out all the blame is on you."

"Yay!" He said ad he pulled me into a hug.

"Ew gross " I said "Can we just keep going "

He ended the hug as lead me into the forest.

Making the biggest mistakes of our lifes.

As we went deeper into the forest i got more and more nervous.

"Avin are you sure were suppose to be going this far in I thought we were almost there?"I said gripping his hand tightly.

"Calm down" he said "If anything tries to attack you I'll fight them with the thing I learned in my moms self defense class" I eyed him " if they come up to us im gonna be all like whhaaaa bang bang bang jab jab jab jab FINISH HIM and he'll be sorry he ever messed with us."

I tried not to laugh " Yeah okay..."

Avin is one of the most smallest thing ive ever seen. He's only 4"8  i basically tower over him at 5"2 . We'd have Better chances surviving if i took him on,But I'll let him have his moment.

"We're here " he said as we approached an old cottage.

"Is this it some crummy old cottage, I came into this scary forrest for this.So lame...."

"Hey wait this place is the coolest i swear " he said as he opened the door.

We opened the door place was filled with dust old portraits and books.

" Look "He said  as he picked up an old newspaper from the shelve dustin it off "Look its from the 1920s "

"Woah" i said looking at it "this is so cool"

"The coolest"he said

"Dont push it" He laughed at my comment .

As we opened the newspaper something happen the ground started shaking.

"What the hell"I said terrified as pieces of the old cabin started to fall down.

"Shelly we have to get out of here"He said grabbing my hand and heading towards the door.

The place was falling apart around us.

"Shelly!!!!" I heard Avin yell as he came rush towards me.The last thing I saw was a  blank of wood heading towards us.Then it went black.

When I woke up the first thing I saw was a florescent light and the smell of clean rubber gloves.I feel something laying on my lap I see its my mom tissue in hand sleeping.All of a suddened the pain started by head felt like it has getting stabbed by a million needles.

"Ahhhhh" I started yelling it woke up my mom who almost had a heart attack when she saw me.

"Shelia my baby are you okay?"

She squeezed me so hard it hurt.

"What happened ?"I said really confused.

" There was an Earth quake last week and you and Avin got caught in it .We found you in the middle of the woods in some old cabin that had collapse.Luckily Avin has protected you or.."my mom trailed off "I dont even wanna think about it!" she said sobbing into my shoulder.

Avin protected me.... Wait!"Mom what happened to Avin is he okay?"

My mom looked at me and swallowed hard

"Avins fine but..." My mom said trailing off.

"What mom whats wrong with avan?Please tell me ive got to know"

"H-he lost his memories"My mom said.I let those word sink in.

"Mom I need to see him" I said

"You can't honey Avins gone."

"What do you mean hes gone?"i exclaimed

"His parents thought the best thing for him was to move him back to Alabama where his family is.Im sorry sweety he's gone and I don't know when they're coming back"

I started to cry.

"My best friend.I lost my best friend."

I sobbed into my moms shoulder as she pat my back.

"It's okay honey its okay."My mom murmured into my ear. My wails echo through the hospital hallways."Avin you dummy!" I cried.
