A Helping Hand (Dan and Phil phanfic)

The Proposal

"Where should we go first?" Phil asked.

"Where do you want to go first?" Dan replied.

"We could get ice cream? I dont know, its quite hot today so it would be nice," Phil suggested.

"Ice cream it is then!" Dan took Phils hand and headed along the river to a small ice cream stand.

"What flavour would you like?" Dan asked.

"Chocolate. Duh!" Phil laughed.

Dan paid for the ice cream and handed Phil his. "You didn't have to pay for mine!" Phil protested, taking his ice cream.

"Yes I did, this wouldnt be a date if I didnt," Dan smiled, heading down the green to a bench that overlooked the gardens.

"A date?" Phil chased after him.

"Well... unless you dont want it to be," Dan smiled awkwardly.

"Of course I do!" Phil grinned. "I love you Dan,"

At about 6 the sun had started to set. "Did you want to go on the eye?" Dan asked, taking Phil by the arm.

"Okay," Phil smiled.

Dan knew it was time. The day had been perfect, the weather was perfect, the setting was perfect, it was perfect.

"Uh, Phil," He stuttered. He felt sick. "I got you a little something, I hope you like it." He pulled out the little box and handed it to Phil.

"Dan, you didn't have to get me anything!" Phil beamed.

"I just want you to know how much I love you, I want you to be happy. Open it," Dan smiled.

Phil opened the box and froze. "Dan..." He gasped in disbelief. "Whats this..?"

"Phil," Dan dropped down on one knee. "Phil, I love you so much. I have never felt this way about anyone before. I thought love was just a word people said to each other to make them feel good. I was so wrong. Love is everytime I see you, I get butterflies. Everytime I close my eyes, I see you. Everytime we're apart, time slows down, every minute becomes an hour without you. I am in love with you Phil. I never want to be apart from you. Will you marry me?"
