*You know what fuck it I'm posting all of it. I may not keep up as well as I could but I love this. Enjoy the first few chapters!*
It would be a lie if Emily were to say she wasn't hurt when she found out that Justin had told Alex about her twin sister who was quote, 'even hotter' than her. Of course Alex didn't complain, because he was a teenage boy. Emily hadn't really expected him to complain. Especially not when they went outside to show him around and Nori came walking down the street just at that second.
Emily could see it. She could see the look in Alex's eyes, the same one that every boy got the first time they saw her sister. Time was slowing down and they were watching her as her hair tumbled over her shoulders in just the right way, and that permanent smile on her face widened just a little bit at the sight of them. It was the classic loss of hope that Emily felt every time someone found out about Nori.
"Alex, prepare yourself. That's my twin sister, Eleanor. We call her Nori. She's the most popular girl in school, and she will try to kiss you tonight." Emily knew her tone was sour, but she hadn't bothered trying to hide it. Nori was already all dressed for the dance, with her short little dress and heels. Makeup could be seen from four houses down as she jogged towards them, the setting sun making her hair glow.
"Is that so..?" Alex trailed off, not seeming to really be listening. Emily sighed heavily and felt Justin's arm curl around her shoulders. Suddenly, Alex turned around to look at her again instead. Nori was still two houses down, since she couldn't really walk fast in heels.
"Why would she try to do that?" He asked, catching Emily off guard. She frowned, regarding him with careful eyes.
"Because you're a new boy, and you're cute. She likes that kind of thing. You wouldn't be asking me that question if you were just another dumb teenage boy, so you must be pretty smart. Nori likes all of that." Emily scowled at the smile that was playing on Alex's lips, pulling away from Justin and crossing her arms over her chest. It seemed that Alex was going to fall, just like every other possible friend. It wasn't that Emily wanted him to like her that way, she just wanted someone else like Justin. Someone who would be her friend, not someone who would kiss up to her because she was pretty, or because she was Nori's sister and she could put in a good word for them.
"What do you like?" Emily was totally unprepared for the question. Her jaw dropped and her entire face turned red as Nori finally reached them, observing the situation. Emily was speechless as she immediately placed herself in front of Alex, flashing him a winning smile and holding out her hand for him to shake. Justin was chuckling, and had ignored her previous movement to get away, pulling her back against him.
After the introductions, it was obvious that Alex had forgotten that he asked Emily a question. He couldn't keep his eyes off of Nori, and she only seemed to have attention for him, as well.
"Are you going to the dance?" She asked Alex, and he nodded vigorously.
"What? Pfft. Of course I'm going to the dance. Who do you think I am? A loser? Pfft. I'm not a loser. Yeah, I guess I'll go." Despite her distaste for the presence of her sister, Emily couldn't help but giggle at his frantic reply. He turned, seeming to suddenly remember that she was there. Recognition flashed in his eyes at her presence. He dropped back a few paces, eyeing the way that Justin had his arm around her shoulders. Emily glanced at Justin and made a face. He was hardly even paying attention, staring off into space. Emily ducked away from his arm and went to stand next to her sister instead. Alex almost seemed to gravitate towards them with a dreamy look in his eyes.
"Nori, you probably want to go back to check in with the girls now. Dad is your ride, and they probably want you to be there," Emily pointed out, trying to shake her annoyingly-captivating sister. The girl nodded slowly, smiling a little.
