Nori made sure Emily was dressed nice for the next time she went to school. The brunette didn't think it was quite necessary, but she ended up showing up to the brick building in a blue sweater with white cloud patterns and a white skirt. Nori got to her hair next and did a loose fishtail braid, leaving a few wispy strands free in the front so they would frame her face, and although Emily insisted she wanted to wear her contacts Nori made her put glasses on to complete 'the look'. Emily didn't think she looked much different from the way she normally looked, but Alex had a pleasantly surprised expression when he saw her walking down the hall.
For a blissful moment, Emily could see the look in his eyes. The look that boys usually saved for Nori. The one where they tried to slow down time just so they could look at her longer. Only it was being directed at her now, and she could feel herself blushing as she approached. He blinked a few times, a smile slowly forming on his face.
"You, um.. You look really nice today," he told her bashfully. Her blush darkened, and she looked down at the toes of her black flats. Her own smile started to grow as she looked back up, playing with the end of her braid nervously.
"Thanks," she murmured softly. "Nori picked out the outfit."
"So? She isn't the one wearing it, is she?" Alex replied with a shrug. "You are. And you look absolutely adorable. So why worry about who picked it?" Emily was sure she was on fire. She was absolutely positively in love. Completely star struck. Alex seemed like he knew it, too. He shifted a bit closer with a shy smile, fidgeting nervously with his fingers.
"Do you think I could maybe, um..." he trailed off, obviously embarrassed. Emily shook her head, grinning hugely, and went in for a quick kiss. His breath caught in his throat when she landed a soft peck, pulling away quickly, but it was obvious that people had seen, for the hallway had gone completely silent. She giggled, examining Alex's red and shocked face.
"Any time you want," she informed him. He seemed to snap out of his stupor at that, stealing another one that was just as quick and shy as the last, but still sweet.
"Yeah! Get some, Lil Bro!" Justin's voice drifted from the other side of the hall where he was standing with an arm draped lazily around Nori's waist. Emily hurried over and smacked the top of his head roughly.
"How could you not tell me?!" She demanded harshly, though her anger had faded over the past few days. "You are so lucky that I'm in a good mood right now, otherwise I would smack you across the face! You are an asshole."
"I deserve that," he replied honestly, holding up his hands in surrender once he had fixed his hair. "But let's be real, how would you have taken it? You would have freaked. If you left me, you wouldn't have anyone left. I made the best choice I could to meet your needs." Emily scowled deeply, averting her eyes. He was right, but she was still upset with him, and rightfully so.
"I'm still mad," she said firmly. "But I guess I won't ignore you anymore."
"Okay by me," he shrugged, and Nori giggled, nudging his side. Alex was tightening Emily's braid, tugging a little bit every once in a while.
"We should go on a double date," Emily suggested. Nori perked up, eyes widening. Alex paused in his movements to peer over her shoulder, resting his chin on the bony surface. Justin mirrored his actions with Nori, eyebrows raised.
"Suggestions?" Alex asked, breath tickling Emily's face. She grinned, leaning back against him onto her heels and thinking about it.
"We could go see a movie, or we could go get ice cream..?" She said, but it wasn't a strong idea. Nobody seemed to buy into it very much.
"There's supposed to be a fair a few towns over," Nori piped up. "We can look up the details. There's definitely fair games, possibly a Ferris wheel, and maybe fireworks. It could be fun." The group murmured their quiet agreement, and all were smiles once more.
"I'll bring my camera!" Emily added with a hint of excitement. "But before you ask, no way am I getting on that Ferris wheel."
"Come on! You can't stay afraid forever, that incident was like, seven years ago!" Nori complained, and Justin laughed.
"Are you talking about the time when your dad brought you guys up and it started raining bullets?" He asked through his chuckles. Nori nodded while Alex's grip around Emily's waist tightened.
"I'll bring an umbrella," he assured her, but Emily was having none of it.
"Absolutely not," she shook her head. "I refuse to even consider it. I will go on roller coasters, I'll dance with clowns, hell, I would even eat candy from one if it offered me some. But I will under no conditions ride a Ferris wheel."
"Guess I'll just have to stay on the ground then," Alex sighed dramatically. "Or find a different girl to ride the Ferris wheel with.."
"Oh, don't be such a baby, it's a freaking carnival ride," Emily scoffed. "I think you'll live."
"That's rich, coming from the girl who won't ride it," he countered. "If you do it then we can take a picture and start another album. Come on, please?"
"Oh my God I hate my life," Emily complained, pulling away from him. "Y'all are so needy. I don't know why I put up with you. Fine, I'll ride the stupid death trap. Don't make me regret this!" There was a chorus of cheers from Nori as Alex caught up, grabbing Emily's hand as they started down the hallway.
"Wouldn't dream of it, Princess," he replied sincerely. Emily rolled her eyes but laced their fingers together anyway, smiling.
"Sure you wouldn't, Solo."

ALOHA yes hello so um. This is the last chapter? Sorry to disappoint but I've totally run out of ideas (and I never even watched the whole show in the first place). There will be an epilogue with their double date and I'll try to make it longer than the last few annoyingly short chapters but I've been saying that for months and this chapter was still barely 1,000 words. So yeah. This story is coming to a close. I hope y'all liked it haha we're almost at 2k reads so thanks for all the support. Love you guys!
💞💞💞💞💞P.S. bit of self promo but if you love Jack Dylan Grazer and you've seen/read IT by Stephen King and that means you love the CHARACTER Eddie Kaspbrak and you ship Reddie (NOT Fack), y'all should check out my collection of Reddie fics hhh
(I think there are like four now and two are completed, two are like halfway done).
But yeah if you ship Richie Tozier and Eddie Kaspbrak I've got a nice big collection going and they're all longer than this piece of shit and I actually come up with good ideas for those where this was going nowhere from the start rip. Anyway yeah lol that's it thank you all so much for sticking with this I love you ❤️(This a/n was longer than the actual chapter kill me)
