Ryder and Jake had found much more iron ore than the pups, but at the cost of that, they were forced to head deeper into the caves. They had not encountered any monsters so far and were a little worried if there were going to be any soon. As they walked, they heard 'bubbling', Ryder knew exactly what that was. They were near lava and lava this low usually meant rare ores such as redstone, gold and even diamonds. They were happy that they made it this far, but now they were unsure of their next move. They had at least a stack and a half of iron ore with them and if they accidently dropped it into the lava for any reason possible, then all their hard work would be lost.
Ryder: Well, there's lava around the corner, but still, as useful as it might be in leading us to valuable ores, lava usually means danger as well.
Jake: Maybe we could get the other pups to help us out down here. That might be useful.
Ryder: That's a good idea, but I don't want to risk any of their lives for anything that might not be worth it.
Jake: You've become more protective of your pups haven't you.
Ryder: Yea, ever since our latest adventure, I think it's best that they stay away from anything that might cause harm to them.
Jake: You're a good owner Ryder. Your parents would be proud of you.
Ryder: My parents... have you seen them?
Jake: When I was younger.
Ryder: Do you know what happened to them?
Jake: All I know is that your parents mysteriously disappeared shortly after your brother got lost out of this world.
Ryder: You knew about my brother?!
Jake: Not much. Other then we used to be about the same age. Do you remember anything?
Ryder: I only remember faint details when I was little.
Jake said nothing more but instead he tried to change the topic out of the talk they were just having.
Jake: Anyways, what was that you were telling me about the diamonds?
Ryder: Huh? Oh yea, they spawn around this level and mostly close to lava.
Jake: You mean like the one we are approaching?
Ryder: Hopefully.
Both had completely forgotten about delivering the iron ore back before continuing. So, they just trudged on.
Jake: Here we are.
Ryder: *scans the area* I see some gold across this obsidian platform, it should be worth the time.
Jake: I'll drop down a furnace if we need it.
Ryder: Good thinking, yep I definitely need to smelt some iron.
Jake: For?
Ryder: For rare ores like gold, you need to have at least an iron pickaxe to be able to mine it.
Jake: Right.
Ryder and Jake smelted some of the iron ore with a few pieces of coal as their fuel. They had to wait for about a solid one and a half minutes before all the iron ore that they had placed in smelted and turned into iron ingots. Jake reached in and took hold of the iron ingot which he dropped immediately due to the heat.
Jake: Wow, Minecraft is definitely not like real life.
Ryder: I have to agree on that.
Jake: Wait, do you hear that?
Ryder: *listens* No I don't... *listens again* now I hear it.
Jake: What do you think it is?
Ryder: It sounds like spiders to me. Let's go check it out.
Jake: Ready when you are.
Sorry for the short chapter, had tests all over the place this term.
