The next day, Ryder made a special tool for all the pups which helped them be able to wield a sword or any kind of tool that was not too heavy. The tool looked like Rocky's pincer combined with Everest's claw. The tool was fitted into their pup-packs so as for them to have easier access to it.
The pups loved the fact that they finally had something that they could defend themselves with, they also felt more braver to head down deeper into the caves.
After fitting them on, Chase and Skye went off to farmer Yumi's farm while the rest of the pups followed Ryder and Jake into the mines. Chase managed to convince Ryder that he and Skye could protect themselves.
On the way, Chase decided that this was the best time to talk to Skye.
Chase: So, Skye... how are you doing?
Skye: I'm doing fine Chase, how about you?
Chase: I'm good too.
Skye: Cool... so, there's something I want to tell you.
Chase: Sure, Skye go ahead.
Skye: Well you see, I... have...a...
Skye was nervous as she was finally going to tell Chase her feelings towards him, but didn't know how to say it.
Chase: Go on Skye, just say it.
Skye: Well, I...
Just then Chase's pup-tag rings.
Chase: Chase here.
Jake: *nervous* Chase, we may need you down here.
Chase: Why?
Jake: Well, you see, the spider dungeon thing didn't go to well so we may need your flashlight down here... and please hurry!
Skye: *sadly* So, you have to go huh.
Chase: Yea... don't worry you can tell me later.
Skye: Okay.
Chase was about to leave when Skye called out to him.
Skye: Chase!
Chase: What is it?
Skye: I... I don't know if I can do this alone, I mean how do I fight off the monsters if every any of them show up?
Chase: You can do it Skye. I believe in you.
Skye: Thanks Chase but I'm still...
Chase: Don't worry, if you ever feel scared, just think of happy memories like... the whale we saved, or maybe someone who your close to.
Skye: Like... you?
Chase: Sure, I mean, we have had a lot of happy moments together.
Skye: *slight blushing* That's true.
Chase: I have to go, all the best!
Chase took of in his truck and left the area leaving Skye alone. Skye couldn't use her helicopter as the engine has been a little damaged, most likely by a creeper explosion.
Skye: Guess I'm on my own now.
