Nothing but a whimper could be heard out of Luna's horrified face with her eyes wide open and her hands covering her mouth. She shrieked out of terror as she watched the scene before her: the cyclone enclosing on her husband, Thor and the others' saddened faces, and the cyclone become an enclosed storm swallowing up the love of her life.
Her eyes painstakingly moved to see the expression on Dreco's face.
It was an expression of pure awe.
He couldn't believe it.
He always liked the idea of Loki dying and he being the cause of it…
…But he never actually thought that it would happen. And now that it finally has happened…
…it felt…amazing…
…Really amazing…
Incredible, even!
Luna watched as a sinister smirk curled his way up and onto his face. His eyes soon were on her, hers quickly averted his as soon as he tried to make contact.
With the clear orb in his hand, Dreco quickly snuck a kiss onto Luna's cheek.
"We can finally be together, darling," Dreco whispered, his lips feeling the softness of her skin, loving every minute of it now that she was finally his.
"You can love me forever…" He said, his words muffled; the elf's mouth traveled down to her neck, or at least tried to, for she ducked her head and slapped him.
"Don't you dare touch me!" She said, pain and sorrow in her eyes; tears glistening in them.
She threw the bathroom door open and went in and mourned the death of her husband. Luna couldn't believe it. Loki couldn't have died that easily.
Even though Dreco was immensely strong, she was so sure that Loki was stronger. Her head dropped in her hands as a new wave of tears came over her, her body trembling.
On the other hside of the door, Dreco held his jaw and rubbed his cheek. He could still feel the imprint of her hand. His cheek was probably beet red, but he didn't care. He was too busy relishing in his enemy's death.
Dreco kept rubbing his cheek as he saw Loki's friends and Thor's agonizing faces, mourning the loss of their comrade.
The Elf's eyes danced around the scene; he wanted to remember every single detail, like somehow he'd forget this amazing moment in a short period of time…
That was, until he saw it.
One little opening…
One little crack…
That one thing was all it took for his whole cheery demeanor to falter.
His huge grin turned into one straight blank thin line.
The only word in his head that soon rolled out of his mouth was, "No."
Thor still had his head in his hands when Hogun squeezed his shoulder.
"Thor! Look!" He said, pointing. Thor followed his friend's gaze and finger to the cyclone. The golden-haired prince couldn't believe his eyes…
It was tinted blue…and more so astonishing is that it had cracks, like it was breaking. Thor smiled through tear-stained cheeks and laughed.
"Loki!" He shouted at the top of his lungs. Fandral and Volstagg laughed out of relief.
"Well, I'll be damned!" Volstagg said. "He completely broke through made it into ice no less!"
Thor's legs began to move before his brain even processed what he was doing. He stopped when he got to the cyclone face-to-face, his reflection distorted on the crystalline surface.
Thor raised his head and looked up at the tall mirror, seeing the scale of it. The more he looked at it, the more cracks appeared. Soon Thor's own face appeared to be broken.
Five minutes later, the cracking increased, and soon Thor heard –or at least thought he heard- a faint sound. H estopped moving for a bit and his eyes soon recognized the sound.
Screaming.
The screaming got louder and louder until the cyclone broke and all he saw was his little baby brother: blue-skinned with Jotun indentations traversing his entire body, his eyes as red as blood itself; if you looked deep into his eyes you could almost see fire fire in his eyes. However, the last thing that Thor noticed was the most apparent thing about Loki at that moment: he had the iciest chill emanating from his body.
As the crystals began to fall, creating a rainfall of icy blue particles, Loki walked hastily out from where the cyclone had been. He didn't even look at his comrades, not even his brother.
He only had eyes for the castle.
The others stared in awe of their friend's appearance. It was the first time they ever saw Loki's true form. They've only heard about it passing of murmurs and whisper against the castle walls.
"Loki…wow." Fandral said, not knowing what to say. "Um, it looks nice. I like it." He continued with a smile, he shifted on the balls of his feet with his arms crossed.
"You should really stay like this. It suits you. Icy, just like your-"
He was interrupted by Loki's icy glare. If he was certain, Fandral could hear him growling. Loki narrowed his eyes and got a tad bit closer to his friend.
The heartthrob gulped and a chill went through his spine. "Uh, uh, ne-nevermind, Loki; just joking with you."
A small smile curled on the corner of his mouth and he went on his way. Everybody looked at each other wearily. Thor nodded his head in Loki's direction so everybody could start walking.
"I have a really, really bad feeling about this," Hogun said mumbled, not wanting Loki to hear. He wasn't in the most reasonable or rational state of mind at the moment.
"You and all of us," said Sif.
And as they walked onwards to the castle, they noticed that Loki left icy footstep in the sand.
Someone was going to die that day, and they were scared would Loki be that someone.
