Tonight's pep rally had been specially planned by Weatherbee to give our new students the warmest welcome possible. It didn't take a genius to know that a pep rally couldn't be less of an enjoyable atmosphere for the serpents, but of course that didn't matter. The River Vixens had to be there.
Sweetpea had driven me crazy all the rest of the day on purpose. Brushing my arm as we passed in the hall, lingering touches of my hand when I handed him a pencil in math class. I could swear I felt sparks everytime he touched me, and he knew it.
After this morning, though, I knew I had to be careful. If Ed sees anything, world war 3 would be on the cards. Not just with him and Sweetpea, but it would be bulldogs vs serpents all over again and this time it would be much harder to make peace.
"I don't know what to do, Kev" I sighed, as me and my friend walked out of our final class of the day. "You know what you have to do, Chloe" he rolled his eyes. "But, Ed-" "The situation hasn't changed." He cut me off "if Sweetpea is what you want, you need to make that choice. It'll be a one time thing and Ed will never have to know. In a weeks time, we'll all have forgotten this even happened. Besides, it's not like Edward's never done things you weren't happy with." He wiggles his eyebrows at me. As usual, I knew he was right.
"So, in other news-" I cut him off "Kev, I love you and you can tell me all about it later, but I need to go get ready for the rally. I'll see you after yeah?" I didn't give him time to answer and rushed to the locker room, leaving him stranded in the hall.

"Chloe" Cheryl said when I entered the gym. "About this morning, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have said anything infront of the guys, especially not Ed and I just wasn't thinking, I was just so angry that I-" I cut her off, repeating Kev's words in my head in a weeks time, we'll all have forgotten this even happened. "It's fine, Cheryl. Honest, it's my stupid fault anyway." I laughed, and things felt normal.
Across the room, I saw Betty and Veronica helping each other to get dressed.
