She was certain she was going to have a heart attack when she saw the man looming over her. He was massive! But then he dismissed her as a hallucination and set her aside, royally confusing her. He thought this was a dream? Of anyone, shouldn’t she have been the one to think it was a dream? Suddenly she was a little more curious than she was scared.

Pushing against the flaps she couldn’t get the box to open, feeling a weight on the outside. Had he put something on the top? But it was quickly gone, allowing her to push the flaps up and let in fresh air again, the girl already trying to climb out of the cardboard prison.

Getting out was definitely not easy and she kept sliding back in, not noticing his eyes on her as he watched her attempts to come out of the box of her own free will. As much as Christian didn’t want to believe she was there he felt bad about the thought of just staring when he could help. So he reached out to carefully take hold of her little shirt between his finger and thumb, knowing for certain he couldn’t deny her reality anymore as he pulled her out and she yelped a tiny noise. He felt bad for scaring her, which he’d expected as much, so he set her down right after and watched her skitter behind the cardboard. Little panicked gasps sounded quietly.

“Sorry… I didn’t mean to startle you…” he apologized, sighing softly. He seemed frustrated, but she wasn’t sure why.

“It’s okay, I won’t hurt you.” he reassured. “What’s your name…?” His eyes turned to the little package and he leaned to look around it a bit, just barely catching sight of her clinging to the side. She was staring at him with such wide little eyes...

The little woman was still too nervous to answer, just looking at him from the safety of her makeshift barrier. Good grief, he was big. Or… was it that she was small…? That brought a flurry of new questions to mind but she didn't have time to process them right now. His voice drew her back.

“Okay… I guess you don’t have to tell me…” he continued after her silence, deciding she probably wasn't up to talking right now. He didn't blame her, of course, but he was definitely too tired to be dealing with this, himself.

The man straightened up again and rubbed his jaw, and it was only now that she noticed the abundance of blond stubble on his face as he seemed to remember it himself. A thoughtful yet weighted look crossed his features and she wondered what he was thinking about.

He figured he could leave her a few minutes. After all, how far would she honestly get before he came back?

“Would you stay here long enough for me to go shave…?” the man asked hesitantly, green eyes turning down to her again. The woman tensed a little to have his attention back on her but she gave a small nod of agreement after a moment. For all she knew, he was the only one who could answer her questions.
