A half hour later and the blond was shuffling about the room to get dressed. Mariana wandered the desktop while he sat on the bed and tied his boots, wearing a plain thin tee with a pocket over his jeans. The clock now read "1:42 A.M." in angry red letters.
"Are you leaving?" She asked, suddenly nervous of being left alone. He nodded, standing and walking over to her.
"We are leaving." He corrected, stretching out a hand for her climb on. Her puzzled look didn't escape his notice. "There's some things you can only do when it's still dark like this." Her confusion seemed to only grow and he just shook his head. "It's nothing bad, I promise. I just need to get some things, and ask around about your situation. If we're lucky someone will have some info."
Mariana looked at his hand and slowly climbed on, stumbling onto his palm again. It was so strange and unsettling fitting in his hand, but the warmth of his skin eased her bit. As Christian lifted her higher she gripped at his palm, a little startled as he slipped his fingers into the pocket of his shirt.
"This'll be safer for you while we're out, okay?" He slid her gingerly into his breast pocket as he spoke. "It'll keep you warm and I'll have a hoodie on too, so you'll be hidden pretty well." As he withdrew his hand he peeked in at her, smiling down at the little woman. She was cute in his pocket, curled up in the hammock of fabric. Carefully moving about, he went to grab his navy hoodie from the back of his desk chair, slipping it on with smooth movements. Once he had it set comfortably on his shoulders Christian zipped it up most of the way, leaving room around Mariana against him. At the very least, the extra layer of the hoodie kept his pocket from swinging about from her small weight.
"Are you ready?" He caught her little awkward nod, hiding the curl of his lips as he felt her shifting against his pectoral. "The let's go."
