He was honestly surprised to see her out in the open on the bed, trying to climb over one of the folds in the sheet that was the same size as her. He didn’t approach right away, but he was smiling a little.
“Hey…” he said softly, making sure to catch her attention; it wouldn’t be wise to startle her. He caught the little gasp of surprise from her as her eyes flew to him and her grip disappeared on the fold. Apparently he still managed to catch her off-guard, whoops.
Looking up she couldn’t really see his face with the light shining behind him from the bathroom, but he had a certain quality to his voice that sounded like he was smiling. It was up for debate if that relieved or bothered her more.
“Ah, sorry, didn’t mean to sneak up on you.” he quickly apologized, his smile fading some. “Um… Are you hungry…? I was going to make some breakfast in a few minutes, and you’re welcome to anything. I was thinking of French toast, does that sound okay?”
Honestly, French toast sounded amazing and she wanted to tell him that, but she was still too nervous to find her voice. Instead she gave a small nod in answer. Then she thought he might not have seen it and gave a bigger nod.
The man smiled again when she nodded twice, seeming enthusiastic about the idea of some breakfast. He chuckled at how cute the little display really was, though he kept that to himself. “Heh, okay. Good to see you’re at least excited about some food,” he said, a big smile on his face. A thought just then occurred to him. “Hey, I’m going to turn on the lights, okay? I just realized it might be a bit hard for you to see.”
When the light came on she blinked a few times and rubbed her eyes, wishing she had thought to close them. The sound of soft footsteps on carpet caught her attention and she looked up, quickly regretting the action as the brightness stung her eyes, as well as what she saw.
The girl squeaked a little in surprise to see he was just in a pair of briefs, her face flushing red and her hands quickly covering her eyes. He couldn't have put on some clothes before he turned on the lights?!
