7 - Skating

Madeline was set on revenge. It had been two whole weeks since Julian had surprised her with his drive in date. She was ready to surprise him. They'd gone on a few short dates since then, walks around the park with Fluffy, or he had come to her apartment to 'help' her study- which usually resulted in her learning one term for the two hours that he was there, and then they spent the rest of the time making out on the couch. He wasn't all that helpful in that regard, but she had made it a point to spend some more time with him. Sometimes, she go to the park on her lunch break and track him down and give him a free burger and fries. With him being her boyfriend now (though they hadn't made that official yet, but it was fairly well assumed), she felt that it was more appropriate to give him stuff now. Everybody at the diner now knew that she had a boyfriend, and they all joked that she was madly in love with him which wasn't very far from the truth. They had figured out that it was the mysterious musician who came in every so often that she always served, they had seen them making eyes each other for awhile. Every time he was brought up, she would calmly inform them that he was not tall, dark and broke, but that his name was Julian and that he really was quite sweet. Of course, then they would only start saying things that would make her blush, most of them that she would never repeat (her co-workers had dirtier minds than she had ever thought, and that was saying something). She didn't mind too much though. She liked this, it was new to her. She had crushed on guys before but she'd never had one that was all her own. She wanted to do this right and not screw it up. So, her best plan of doing that?

Getting him into skates and pushing him out onto slippery ice to break his neck. The neck breaking thing wasn't exactly part of the plan, but as far as Julian was concerned, that was what was going to happen. They were at an ice rink. She had picked him up from his 'work' after she was done her shift, and had driven him there without giving any hints. Of course, it wasn't as nice as a drive in but she was sure that once she got him out there, he would be having as much fun as she was.

The rink was empty, except for them. Skating wasn't a huge past time in sunny California apparently. Julian was a little apprehensive to say the least, but Madeline had rented them both a pair of skates and was lacing hers up easily. "You don't look too thrilled. When was the last time that you went ice skating?"

"My family took a few vacations up at a winter lodge once, they had a skating pond up there, but I haven't been up there since I was thirteen. How did you even think of this place?"

She smiled. "I used to love skating. It was one of the only hobbies that my parents actually approved of. I don't know why I just thought of it now. It's just been so hot lately, especially in the diner with the kitchens. I guess I was just craving something cool. you don't mind do you?"

"No!" Liar. Well, it wasn't as if he was going to throw a tantrum bout it. He was only going to fall and kill himself, no big deal. He just didn't want to act like a baby in front of Madeline, and he didn't want to disappoint her either. Julian had always liked skating as a kid but he'd never been very good at it. If he was going to choose something to impress Maddy by, it would not be this. Maybe that bothered him more than the whole impending fatal injury thing. He just really wanted to impress her, he wanted her to really like him. It was fairly obvious that they both were a little crazy for each other but Julian didn't see much of it. He had never been very good at taking hints.

Julian fumbled hopelessly with his laces, and Madeline chuckled, going over to help him the moment that she got her skates undone. Oh yes, that was very manly, not even being able to tie your own shoes up! Though in his defence, skates were quite tricky things until you got the hang of them. She wedged his skate between her delicious thighs and began lacing him up tightly. "I used to come and do this all the time during the winter, especially around Christmas. My sister and I would always try to outdo each other with our tricks. She took figure skating lessons, so she'd always beat me like she did at pretty much everything else, but I always tried anyway."
