It had been too long since Poland had set off for him not to have returned yet. Way too long. Lithuania took his phone away from his ear, this is the 8th time he had called and gotten no response. This was it. Lithuania put the basket down and began to walk toward the exit.It had been ages since Poland hadn't answered his phone, this was either immensely serious or extraordinarily childish, either way Lithuania needed to get to Poland to ensure he is ok.

Thoughts of what could of happened scrambled around Lithuania's head, with each thought he went faster and faster. PANIC.

Eventually the former soviet was stood outside his house, dishing his keys out of his pocket, he unlocked the door and burst in,

"POLAND!" He looked around, "POLAND! ARE YOU HERE?" No reply. Lithuania ran through the house to find the nation, violently slamming every door open, until there was not a single door left. However Poland was not to be found. No where. He'd searched the entire house.

Lithuania hears a shuffle from above him, the attic! Poland must be there. As he climbed the ladder leading to the attic the shuffling noise became more apparent. It was crying. Lithuania took a deep breath and opened the attic door to see a figure hugging their knees in the corner amidst the darkens of the room.

"Poland?" Lithuania reached for what he assumes is Poland, "Hey Poland are you ok?". What am I saying? Of course he wasn't ok, he was crying his eyes out. Poland didn't reply. Lithuania had no idea what he was suppose to do or say, despite their long history Lithuania had only seen Poland like this when their commonwealth was in decline and they were going to have leave each other, even then he couldn't comfort him due to the current events taking up too much of his time and his boss ensuring he dealt with them before Poland's mental wellbeing.

Poland wrapped his arms around Lithuania without warning, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." HE bawled out, "I'm sorry!" His words were muffled by his tears. Shook, Lithuania returned Poland's ,what seemed to affection but was most likely self comfort,   with the additional gentle hushing and stroking his hair.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Poland kept repenting for some unknowing reason. Lithuania kept up with the hushing and stroking along with a bit of rocking, this is how he used to comfort Latvia when he needed it. Poland began to hyperventilation, his cries along with the constant apologises slowly quietened. The room was silent besides Lithuania's gentle hushing, Poland's fast breaths and his now whisper like expressions of guilt all steadily easing until silence loomed over the entire room.

Lithuania closed his eyes ,stopped rocking and stroking Poland's hair for Poland had drifted of to sleep in his lovers arms.

"It's ok. I'll always be here for you." The tender words escaped Lithuania's mouth like a breeze, they danced around the room before settling down about the house. Lithuania cautiously carried Poland down the ladder and laid him down on the bed, put a blanket over him and made sure he was snug as a bug before leaving the room. The shopping will have to wait until another time, now all that matters is Poland's wellbeing and this time Lithuania would be there for him. He promised after all.
