With preseason in full swing now, Cynthia and Mark focused on preparing for their varsity debuts. The stress was being felt by both of them. School had started about a month ago so Kristie and Jenn were making the most of the easy part of school.
Jenn came over to Kristie's that night. "Hey, Jenn," said Kristie "Wanna get wasted?" Jenn, loving her alcohol and tobacco eagerly exclaimed "Heck yeah! It's been a long drought since I've had some good beer and a nice dart." Jenn downed four shots. "Save some for me, freak!" yelled Kristie. After gulping down three cans, Keri talked about how she loves the feeling of beer in her mouth. After about seven or eight cans, to Jenn's surprise, she found Kristie mumbling about how both beer and Mark are the greatest Canadian things or something like that. (He's actually Argentinian).
Jenn went in the shower to clean up for next morning's work while Kristie sat in her bed texting people. Kristie then scrolled past Mark's contact. She figured she'd just tell him how she's feeling. Without even thinking, Kristie wrote "Mark, I'm in love with you and always have been. Ever since the day I first saw you at the rival game, I couldn't stop thinking about you, I want you and your body. I love you." Without thinking, the text was sent.
Jenn, dripping wet from the shower went to comfort her sad friend. Kristie began to giggle and then lifted her phone, "Kristie, what the heck?!" screamed Jenn. "What on earth do you think he's gonna say?" said Kristie. "I don't know but you're screwed if he doesn't feel the same way, that's all I gotta say. You could ruin this friendship." Frightened by Jennifer's words, Kristie responded with "dang".
