Curling and Cynthia

Mark's POV:

Cynthia is an attractive young lady. I kind of feel bad for her, though. She just has an inaccurate reputation because she's dated a lot of people. She's sweet, but she really likes to talk about matters that should obviously remain private. I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't judge her because she's got experience in the dating area of life.

I mean, what she did at the beach was uncalled for, and kind of unwanted, but I don't really care. I just think that if I had a problem with her touching my body that I'd do something. I haven't told anyone else, though; some things are just best left unsaid. If I told my team, I'd be a pretty cool dude, though. That's why I was surprised that she was bragging about it, but hey, maybe she's proud of it. It was pretty brief because Jake interrupted it. I couldn't care less: it's life.

Cynthia's POV:

I was pretty proud of that beach incident. Mark is the prize that I've won! I've been wanting him to be mine all summer. He's been trying to stay neutral, but I know that I'll get to him one of these days. He's too neutral. Doesn't he know that attention is good, even if it's for the wrong reason?

I've been through some tough stuff. Things are far from perfect in my life, but Mark completes me. I actually feel valued when he talks to me and promptly responds to my texts. Feeling valued is addictive. It's something that I usually lack in my life, but he makes sure I feel valued. I want us to be closer than just friends, but I don't know if he wants that too...

Mick's POV:

Canada is still amazing. School lunches are definitely sub-par, though...

Curling is even better here! People treat it like a real sport! In Hungary, it's underdeveloped; we don't have as much ice and cold weather as Canada. I really like how I get to play a lot. Jake is definitely one of my favourite people on the team, but Mark is better, obviously. Mark's got a great work ethic and plays just as good, for the team, of course. I admire his selflessness.

I'm gonna meet his friends from Lone Plateau Academy this weekend. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. They seem like a group of discourse, but I think that they'll be fine anyways. I asked Mark is jake could come too and Mark thought that was a good idea. I think that we'll all have a great picnic at the beach.

Jake's Pov:

When Mark and I were at the beach, he told me about the whole Cynthia incident. That's just befuddling, to say the least. To be honest, I'd be really uncomfortable if I were him. I couldn't just let someone touch me without my consent. The most awkward part is that he had another incident with Kristie, too.

She seems like a pretty cool and attractive girl, but I don't really date anymore since I've had some pretty horrible relationships. Mark and I have that in common: both of our most recent relationships have scarred us pretty badly.

Mark's pretty lucky; Micólas is a really cool dude. He's got a super cool accent, and he's a pretty big asset to our team's success. I'm trying to be especially nice and welcoming to him because I understand that being an exchange student is really hard to adjust to. He invited me to the beach with Mark's usual girl squad. I swear he's always surrounded by girls, but he seems pretty confident and comfortable around them. I just know that this picnic will be fun.

I just can't stop thinking about Jenn: her beautiful brown hair and her gorgeous blue-grey eyes. She's such a great person. I'm excited to see her at the picnic! I wonder what she thinks of me, even though we've barely had a meaningful interaction.
