"You were a late surprise to the very first queen, who happened to be the emperor's childhood love. Having been especially doted on for this reason, your early childhood was extremely pleasant, although everyone was wary of your ability." Kurapika began rowing out to a calm lagoon not too far away. You, in the meantime, were listening to his psychological evaluation of yourself. "Once the queen met her untimely death, you searched for a surrogate mother and were unable to find one. You took solace in a world of 'make-believe'—"

"It isn't pretend. They do exist." You interrupted with a frown.

"Yes. A world of 'make-believe' that ended up being all of the parasitic nen beasts that are attached to your father and all of his offspring. That makes you a specialist most likely. From what I have gathered in my observations, your relationship with a beast correlates directly with your relationship with that sibling. Mostly positive, some negative. That is not unusual. Your favorite sibling is clearly Prince Momoze, whom you spend a lot of time with. This is likely from complimentary personalities and a similarity in age and isolation. However, where your sister shuts down and keeps to herself; you," He stopped rowing here and opened up the picnic basket that had been sitting in front of you. "Are rebellious. Despite adhering to most of the norms around you, you cause trouble. A naughty personality. Unlikely to hurt someone however, you are merely a prankster and a tease."

You giggled. You were an awful tease and a huge prankster. It was the only thing to help you reduce your boredom.

"Even now, you're sitting in a seductive position, trying to push me into acting inappropriately. It won't happen." He continued.

"I am not! I am sitting how I normally do. You're just sensitive." You pouted as you moved positions. You had been sitting with your legs down, but to the side, but now you had them tucked beneath you. You reached out to grab a piece of cheese from the platter presented before you.

"And even your defensive maneuvers play on your naughty personality. Pouting, child-like flat-out rejection and big eyes like you couldn't believe that I would even think such a thing."

You wiped the pout off your face and gave him a genuine laugh.

"I think that is enough analyzing of my personality for the day. How about we actually get to know each other?" You popped a small fruit into your mouth as Kurapika grabbed some crackers and nodded. "Do you have any family?"

Little did you know however, this was the one question that Kurapika really, really, didn't want to answer. It was made known to you quickly when a frown immediately formed on his face.

"My apologies. I did not mean to upset you." You quickly corrected yourself.

"No, no. It is okay. I am the last of my people. They were murdered for their body parts," He kept it vague, hoping this would be enough to satisfy you. "In fact, the entire reason I decided to come on this journey was because one of your siblings has one of my family's body parts."

He was taking a risk, telling you about this. But to be closer to you... it was worth it.
