Kirino's POV

It doesn't take us long to reach the warehouse, but it seems like an entire squad is already waiting down there to give us a very hot warning.

As soon as Kunikida drives inside the warehouse, someone deep inside releases multiple guns, and a gun unit starts raining bullets at us.

"Doppo Poet! Flash Bang!" Kunikida yells, throwing a flash bomb at the gunners before giving his orders, "Atsushi, scour the vicinity for any clues of the Azure Messenger, and aid the military police as needed. Hikoku, Dazai, I need you two to go upstairs and stop the transmitter. I will be the distraction over here."

"Roger!"

Dazai and I head upstairs where we find a layout of monitors and a bomb timer counting down. We only have fifteen minutes before we go Kaboom!

"Tsk, we don't have the key. How is Kunikida doing below?" I ask as I scan the monitors for any other way we can deactivate it. I try to type in some codes, but none of them work.

"The guy below is an ability users. He's the one that puts numbers on people's palms. It's almost like an accelerated death timer." Dazai informs me.

A loud bang from the door gets my attention where a huge, buff man stands.

"Wow, what a heavy-hitter we have over here!" Dazai exclaims in faux-excitement. Damn it, this is the worst possible match-up for us right now. Dazai's physical strength normally isn't enough for guys like this, which is where I normally come in with my ability. But, I can't use my ability right now!

I take a peek at Kunikida from the corner of my eye. He is also cornered, and the deactivation key just snapped in half. Great, this situation just got even worse.

In that split second when I wasn't paying attention, the heavy-hitter throws Dazai against the wall, crushing the cabinets and parts of the wall. My anger rises at the sight of Dazai gettig hurt.

"Hey! What the fuck do you think you're doing?!" I yell, "Abili—"

"Stop Kirino! Don't use your ability damn it!" I hear Dazai weakly say from behind me.

The split second distraction from Dazai, and the man's hand is already at my throat. You've gotta be kidding me; not only is this guy insanely strong, but he's fast too? Completely unfair.

I try to claw my way out to no avail, rather, instead he slams against the wall like a ragged doll right next to Dazai. His hold on my neck tightens, and I let out a haggled cough and a little blood leaks out from the impact.

"Oi get your hands off of her." Dazai's tone completely changes. With a kick of his feet, he manages to get the man's hands off of my neck and I land in his arms.

I lean onto his chest as I hold my neck and cough to loosen my throat. Even as the man slams Dazai against the window pane, he doesn't let go of me, but instead, tightens his hold to make sure I don't fall.

"Kunikida-san!" I yell as best as I can with my strained voice.

"I know!" Kunikida responds, taking out his notebook.

"Doppo Poet! Wire gun!" I hear him yell before the glass shatters and a wire flies through right beside Dazai's head. The man lets go of Dazai, and we fly through the air and onto the first floor. I give Dazai a tap on the shoulder so he can put me down.

"Eh? You don't wanna be a Princess?" Dazai teases as he gently guides my feet to the ground, but he still keeps his hand on my shoulder.

"You sure you have time to play the Prince? Your time is about to up, you know." Kunikida's former opponent chides. A large circle with a number appears on the ground, but quickly dissipates.
