Fluttering Feelings (Fanfic)

Chapter 69

Seol-a was at home wearing her eyeglasses. She was making herself busy with her books and school homeworks. She was having a hard time focusing on what she was reading. She felt uneasy knowing Sungpyo has already re-enrolled and the possibility of him and Norae seeing each other everyday worries her. What if Sungpyo would make moves on Norae and pursue her again? Will she accept him? If Norae does, what would she suppose to do about that and how would she react? Just the thought of it makes her weak. It pains her to imagine them being back together. What should she do?

~~ring ring~~

Seol-a: (answers the phone without even checking who's calling, ended up sounding uninterested) Hello?

Norae: Seol-a, are you at home?

Seol-a: (hearing Norae's voice always brightens up her mood) No-rae, yeah I'm at home.

Norae: Did i call you at a bad time? Are you ok? You sound tired.

Seol-a: Of course, I'm fine. What's up?

Norae: Can I come over? Mom sent me a package and she wanted me to give you a bottle of her peach wine. You love it, right?

Seol-a: Yes, I absolutely love it. Come here quick. I'm gonna prepare something that will go along with that drink and might as well make dinner for us.

Norae: Yay!! I miss your cooking. Okay, coming.

Seol-a was preparing for their dinner while Norae was intensely watching her while sitting comfortably on the dining table.

Norae: So you were studying before I came here. You should have told me. I feel bad disturbing you.

Seol-a: There is no way you'll disturb me. I've had enough for today anyway. What about you? Have you finished your homework?

Norae: (scratching her cheek with her finger) I'm working on it. hahaha

Seol-a: You should be otherwise you'll end up repeating courses which you don't want to happen AGAIN right? (giving emphasis on "again", she knew she was exaggerating. Well, she actually just wanted to remind Norae not to fool around again with her studies, especially this semester when Sungpyo has already re-enrolled. It pisses her off remembering Norae's pictures with the guy and even though she isn't sure if that will ever happen again, the thought of it threatens her.)

Norae: hahaha, Yup. It will never happen again.

Seol-a stopped for a moment, faced Norae and looked at her blankly.

Norae: What is it?

Seol-a: Really? It will never happen again? (Asking this question even though she knew Norae wasn't aware that she was actually referring to her and Sungpyo. She just wanted to hear Norae's assurance to calm her anxious mind.)

Norae: (confused about Seol-a's sudden seriousness she answered her earnestly) Even if I still have more credits left, and probably couldn't graduate together with you and Hyekyeong, I will still do my best to do well this semester. I can't afford taking up another set of courses during break.

Seol-a: Sigh...That's a relief to hear. But.. ( having second thoughts if she should say what she wanted to say)

Norae: But.. what? (it's seems like something is worrying her)

Seol-a: ( I have to say it.) Well, I just can't help but wonder, what if Sungpyo will want you back? Will you accept him? Then go back to being crazily in love, neglecting your studies, just like what happened during your second year?

Norae was a bit surprise by Seol-a's direct questions. She wasn't expecting it. She actually doesn't want to talk about this with her. It makes her feel awkward just like the first time Seol-a asked her about Sungpyo. But looking at Seol-a's worried face she wanted to reassure her. Clearing her throat she answered her sincerely.

Norae: Its been 2 years and Im ok now. True, I have been having these flashbacks from those good times I spent with Oppa. At first I thought it would be hard seeing him much more talking to him again. But I am fine now. (She paused, looked at Seol-a) So you don't need to worry. Besides, Im happy and comfortable with how things are right now. (Finishing those lines with a smile)

Seol-a smiles back at Norae. She now felt less afraid and the uneasiness she was feeling before along with the worrying thoughts are somehow eased.

She reached Norae's hand pulled her gently from the dining table.

Norae: Woah, w-what now?

Seol-a: Come here and try this. Tell me if its tasty. ( She took a piece of her cooked meat and tried to feed Norae) Say ahh..

Norae: (Blushing, she opened her mouth and ate it. With two thumbs up..) Wow, its too tashty.. You are really good at cooking.

Seol-a: (smiling widely and confidently) I know right. I'm almost done.

Norae: hehehe.. what are we gonna do after? Wanna watch a movie while drinking the peach wine.?

Seol-a: Hmm.. sure, but let me choose what to watch this time. I sometimes can't understand your taste in movies. Who knows you will play an erotic one just like that movie preview we went to.

Norae: hahaha.. You still remember that. That was actually fun. Seeing your reaction was very amusing.

Seol-a: What??

Norae: hehehehe.. Never mind.

Seol-a: So you were secretly watching my reaction? Huh? You're terrible.

Norae kept on laughing.

Seol-a: Phew.. I hope we'll always be like this.

Norae: hmmm?

Seol-a: I hope we always have something to laugh about and do things together. Thank you for keeping your promise by staying by my side. I always enjoy every moment we spent together. (looked at Norae just to see her flustered)

Seol-a: Pffft! hahaha

Norae: Eh? are you toying with me?

Seol-a: No, you are just too cute when you are flustered.

Norae: Hmmm.. well, I also enjoy these moments. Most especially those times when I can eat your homemade food. Hehehehe (she needed to crack a joke to hide her embarrassment)

Seol-a: You and your apetite.

They both laughed at that.
