Fluttering Feelings (Fanfic)

Chapter 76

School made everybody busy. With the upcoming exams everyone buried their faces on their books to study while others were busy finishing their reseacher papers.

-Examination Day-

Seol-a: (Just got out of their department building) Phew!! That was a bit challenging. Good thing I have studied most of the parts. I wonder how Hyekyeong and Norae are doing. (looked at her watch) Hmmm... they might be done anytime now. (Headed to one of the benches to wait for the two)

Norae and Hyekyeong got out together. They looked so drained and tired. Seol-a called out to them.

Seol-a: Hey, over here! (smiling and waving)

Norae: Seol-a, you finished your exams early.

Hyekyeong: Well, what else can you expect from her?(wrapped her left arm around Seol-a's neck) Seol-a tell me your secret. Why do you have to be so good at everything? The world sure is unfair.

Seol-a: hahaha.. Im sure the two of you did just fine. Let's go and have lunch. It's my treat. What do you want to eat?.

Hyekyeong and Norae: (looked at each other then grinned) Chicken!!

Seol-a: Right... then chicken it is. Let's go.

Hyekyeong: Kya! You really are the best Seol-a.

Norae: (Smiling)

--At the restaurant--

Norae: Chicken is the best to eat after exams. Nom nom nom

Hyekyeong: Geez.. im sure anything is good to you.

Seol-a: hahaha, well I have to agree. Good thing we came here.

Hyekyeong: Hey, what about we go drinking after this?

Seol-a: I'd love to but I have to meet a friend after. Maybe some other time.

Hyekyeong: That's a shame. Then it'll only be just us Kim Song!

Norae: Hmm.. I think I have to pass too. I'd rather go straight home and rest. Exams took out all of my energy. I need to recharge and recuperate.

Hyekyeong: Come on! You two are no fun.

Norae: Well, you can go with the guy you've gone to that blind date with.

Hyekyeong: What blind date?

Norae: Aigoo.. so it didn't go well huh??

Hyekyeong: Yah! Kimsung. Come here and I'll eat you too!

Norae: No way!! Seol-a help me.

Seol-a: hahaha...

Seol-a just got done eating her share.

Seol-a: I have to go now. I'll be heading first.

Norae: Hmm? Okay, Be sure to be careful okay?

Seol-a: Yes Mom! (smiled brightly) Be careful too when you head home.

Hyekyeong: Thanks for the chicken Seol-a!

Seol-a: No problem. Bye!

--After Seol-a left--

Hyekyeong: Hmmm.. I wonder who is that friend she is meeting with.

Norae: ...

Hyekyeong: Maybe a boyfriend?

Norae: (stopped from eating, suddenly felt uneasy) Who knows?

Hyekyeong: Sigh.. but I really want to drink after.

Norae: (looked so serious staring at her plate)

Hyekyeong: What now? Are you trying to offer a prayer for all of these chicken you've eaten? Kekekeke

Norae: hahaha.. You should too. You've eaten a lot you know.

Hyekyeong: What did you say? (tried to strangle Norae)

Norae: Argh!! Stop it. It was just a joke.

They both ended up laughing.

After lunch

Hyekyeong: Take care! Don't be late tomorrow for your supplementary classes. Ok?

Norae: I will! Don't drink too much.

Norae walked going to her apartment. She passed by a park and decided to spend time there for a while before heading home. She looked around and saw couples fooling around. She remembered what Hyekyeong said earlier. What if she was right that Seol-a was to meet her boyfriend or be dating someone? That is possible.

Norae: Sigh..

Before she used to think of someone who might be suited for Seol-a. Someone who would treat her right and not take advantage of her. Someone with a warm embrace to bring comfort and security to her. But now, her chest feels heavy and it hurts just by imagining Seol-a happy in other people's embrace.

She looked at a couple giggling at the corner. They were facing at the same direction. The guy wrapped his hands around her while the girl's head was resting comfortably on his chest. They look so cute and happy.

Norae imagined her and Seol-a in their stead. Seol-a embracing her from behind while they look ahead giggling with happiness. The couple kissed each other. And from there she saw herself slowly looking up to Seol-a and reached for her lips.

Norae: Ahh! I must be losing my mind. (her face was so red just by imagining that) No. Its impossible. How can i think of such a thing. Haah! I must be really tired. I need to go home and sleep.
