It was the morning of the dance, and Bay was at my house with about ten tuxes.
"What about this one?" Bay tried on the last tux. It was a light blue tux with a black bow tie.
"All of them look good on you!" I sighed as I laid on my bed, looking at my ceiling.
"But," I heard Bay said, and the bed creaked at the added weight, "do you think he will like it?" I sat up and looked at him confused for a moment.
"Him?" I asked as I thought, then the image of really short blonde hair came into my mind, "Oh. Darren? I thought we were over him!"
"It's not that easy," He sighed as he looked down at the bed sheets, "I thought I was too until we ran into him and Jake yesterday."
"Oh Bay," I leaned over the little space between us and hugged him tightly, "I'm sure he'll love whatever you wear!"
"Thanks," Bay let out a breath and hugged me back, "this time, I'll confess my love to him and never let him go."
"I'm proud of you!" I smiled hugely at him as we broke the hug, "You two will make a great couple!"
"What about you?" Bay inquired as I got up and pulled out a dark blue dress.
"What about me?" I asked as I looked back at him, confusion crossing my face.
"You like Jake, right?" Bay stood up and crossed his arms, "Shouldn't you tell him before it's too late?"
"I don't know what Anime you're watching or what Manga you're reading," I drawled out, "were enemies turn into lovers, but this is not one of them."
"So you don't like him," Bay pressed, ignoring my statement, "not even a little bit?"
"Not like that," I admitted as I folded the dress over my arm, "I like him as a friend, but not as a lover."
"What if he likes you like that?" Bay sounded as if he knew something that I didn't know, "What would you do if he likes you like that?"
"Nothing," I shrugged, "I wouldn't date him out of pity, but I wouldn't stop being his friend. I'd just tell him straight up that I don't like him like that."
"Being blunt like that is horrible," Bay informed me, "that can hurt a guys ego. You wouldn't want him to tell you straight up if the roles were reversed, instead you'd want him to let you down easy, so I suggest you do that for him."
"Okay," I said slowly as I made my way towards my little bathroom, "I'll let him down easy." I then closed the bathroom door and got ready for the dance that was in a few hours. I sprayed the perfume Jake had given to me that day, and smiled to myself as I looked down at the bottle. Ever since he gave it to me, people started talking to me more, and the conversations was never about the supposed relationship I had with Jake. I was making more friends because of the perfume. I guess I really did smell like smoke and weed for years. I placed the perfume back into the little cabinet that was behind the mirror and began brushing my hair. "You like Jake, right? Shouldn't you tell him before it's too late?" Bays' voice entered my thoughts without my permission. 'Why am I thinking about that?' I pondered as I brushed my teeth and gargled.
"Hey!" Bay pounded at the door, "What's taking so long? Jake just called you! I had to answer. He said that Darren will be picking us up!"
"Why isn't Jake coming with him?" I asked as I finished and opened the door.
"I don't know," Bay shrugged, "why don't you call him back and ask him yourself?"
"U-um," I stuttered a bit as the thought of hearing his voice made me nervous for some unknown reason, "because I don't want to!"
