Derki had made his way to his best friend Tove's hut. She was a tall and gorgeous viking with brown hair that was always down. She had big brown eye that had half the boys in the village swooning over her. Where most boy would fall in love with Derki only wanted her as a friend and nothing more.
Derki nocked on Tove's door to only be greeted by an array of shouts and yells that came from Tove and her parents. When she finally came to the door, her face was red with anger. She looked at Derki then grabbed him by the back of his waist coat and dragged him away from the hut.
"So i'm guessing that your parents are making to go to the beast hunting school for young vikings?" Said Derki.
"Yup" Tove said still angry.
The thing you should now about Tove is that she hates being in the same room as most the boys in our village because of how the swoon over her. So being forced to go to school with then is her definition of hell.
"Umm Tove could you please let go of me I think I can walk from here." Derki said with a panicked tone because at this point he could hear his coat ripping.
"Oh yah sorry" she said whilst letting him go. He stumbled a bit before he steadied him self then ran after Tove.
"Tove wait up" said while he ran after her- some how she had gotten a quiet a few meters between them in a short amount of time-.
"Come on slow poke I thought you wanted to go down to the river today." She said still walking at the speed of light.
By the time Derki caught up they were almost there."you really need to learn how to walk slower."
"No you need to learn how to walk faster" she said laughing at the sweat that poured down his face.
"Well you could have at least waited for me" Derki said he sounded a little hurt by her comment.
"Where's the fun in that" she said with a cheeky smile plastered on her face.
Derki rolled his eyes and continued to walk to the river which he could see now.
Once they got to the river they looked for rocks they could throw in the river to see who could make the biggest splash.
They both picked resemble large rocks then threw them in. Sadly for Derki, Tove's rock made a slightly larger splash.
Derki was about to go and get another rock when something in the water caught his eye. He slowly crept closer to the water, he then bent down to get a better look. The thing in question was a shiny blue rounded triangular rock. He picked it up and looked at its slick surface he then realised something, then realised something else. It was a dragon scale and the dragon in question could still be around.
Derki jumped up, ran over to Tove and grabbed her wrist "we have to go now" Derki said with a panicked but stern voice.
"Why? Is because you don't want to lose to me again" as she said that Derki showed her the scale "oh".
They both started to run back to the village where they could escape the possibility of a dragon eating them for breakfast.
By the time they got back it was lunch time so the went to there huts to have lunch and get ready for the beast hunting school for young vikings.
Before Derki could start heading down the path that lead to his hut Tove had pulled him aside."should we tell someone what we found or what?" Tove said.
"I don't know, probably not we should just wait a few days before going back." Derki said not sounding to sure of himself.
Tove nodded and walked away. Derki headed back towards his hut for lunch.
