The third quidditch match of the year was welcomed by Slytherin and Ravenclaw. Millie felt pumped, to say the least. She had woken up early and sat as patiently as she could while Demetria braided pigtails into her hair. Then she dressed in her warmest Slytherin sweater and gathered her emerald cloak around her shoulders.

"Morning," she chirped, sitting at the table where her teammates were eating.

"You sound more chipper than usual," Regulus commented, snickering around his bacon.

Millie opened up her compact mirror and reapplied her cherry lipgloss. "I have a good feeling about today. I think we'll win."

She and Regulus were back on talking terms, both agreeing it was better to be friends than settle for each other's very different ideals on things.

Besides, Millie still held the captain position, as Lucinda was in no condition to fly a broom. She couldn't be enemies with her team. "We're gonna crush those Ravenclaws."

"Don't crush them too bad," Demetria said, adjusting her beanie over her black hair. "I have to go back to the common room with them afterwards, and there's nothing worse than a room full of sad, drunk Ravenclaws."

"Let's sleep in our secret room," Millie suggested quietly, away from any other ears. "We can have a sleepover."

Soon it was time for the game, and Millie was walking onto the field to shake hands with the Ravenclaw captain.

As a beater, it was her job to keep bludgers from attacking her chasers. She also needed to direct them towards the opposing chasers to throw them off course.

So far, she was doing well, despite it being a rather cold morning. The snow was coming down rather heavily, and Millie was having a hard time seeing even just foot in front of her. She was still on her broom though, so that was a good sign.

By the end of the game, Millie had lost track of the bludger. She's also lost track of her entire team, and where everyone was stationed. She flew around cautiously, just hoping the game would be over soon.

It ended soon enough — though not how Millie might've liked — with a bludger to the ribs. Millie felt the blunt pain in her stomach and fell off of her broom.

She felt like throwing up when she landed on the soft snow. The snow hadn't lightened up much, so Millie could only hear the commotion going on around her.

Suddenly, there was a blinding light and a gush of wind as Professor Slughorn cast a barrier spell to keep the snow away from everyone. "Maybe I should've thought of that sooner," he muttered to himself before pocketing his wand. "Yes, then, Ravenclaw wins by 50 points!"

Millie sat up, wincing as her torso burned at the pressure. Soon Benji was beside her. "Millie, are you good? Are you injured badly?"

"Just a few bruised ribs," Millie struggled to smile through the pain, "Ravenclaw caught the snitch then?"

"Yeah, but your chasers were really close to getting another goal if they hadn't of been distracted by you falling."

"How did they even see me?" Millie asked, allowing Benji to help her into a standing position.

"I think your goggles are broken," Benji whispered, tugging them off of his sister's head. "Or blurry, because the snow isn't quite that thick."

Millie snatched the goggles back and hobbled along with Benji towards the hospital wing. "I've had them since third year; I can't abandon them now."
