Aiden Sool stared up at the moon after taking the garbage bins to the curb for trash pickup tomorrow. His life was not as he had envisioned it to be. Aiden pictured himself alone and unloved until death. Diana was a welcomed distraction. She was not afraid to spend the rest of her life with him. Diana did not care what others had said about him. She only cared what was in his heart.A smile formed on his lips as Aiden looked up at the starry sky above him. Then the Tax lawyer sighed and opened the garbage lid and let the trash bag falling from the sky tumble inside without touching the sides.
"Nothing but net," England yelled at him from the porch. She was already dressed for work, wearing the brown shirt and pants along with her name tag. Aiden rolled his eyes at her when she started dancing and singing. This child was nothing like him; she was not like Diana either.
"It was tipped by your dad."
England looked across the street and saw Bob the ghoul standing there with two other men or creatures. England did not notice her father's sudden stillness. He was always silent, but this time he was reticent, almost to the point of not breathing. His daughter ran past him and towards her favorite creature on the entire earth.
Etan and Kano stared at the dark haired woman racing towards Bob without stopping. The six-foot ghoul laughed and embraced her when her slim arms circled his rubbery skin. She did not care that this creature had claws that could rip her to shreds or that he was not handsome like a vampire or lycan. They could see the love on her face as she smiled with her eyes closed as she squeezed Bob as hard as she could. The rubbery skin shook as the creature laughed.
"So you did not miss me while I was on vacation."
"I had to sleep in my brother's crib to maintain my sanity." Bob laughed again, and England squeezed him harder.
"I see you quit working out." England pulled away from him and laughed.
"Hey, I do work out. I can't help it if I have weak girly arms."
"You should get arms like Etan or that hidden strength like Kano."
England looked at the creatures next to Bob. They both watched her like she would be lunch soon but that did not bother England. Bob had told her that sometimes instincts to hunt became stronger when one of his kind met a new human, but it would fade within the hour. He also said that those of the Gathering were bonded and not allowed to hurt humans.
"My arms are fine."
"That's not what the others say behind your back." England chuckled at Bob's last statement. Etan and Kano smiled.
"Who would say such a thing about you little Sool?" The voice of the most hated man on the block walked from his house and towards the group of four. Allen Tenno smiled as he stared down at England.
Bob rolled his green eyes. "So I see you're wearing that gorgeous brown uniform of Mazes department store."
England laughed again. " Doesn't it reek of sexiness and happiness all balled up in brown."
"You make everything look good Sool."
Aiden could hear every word that Allen spoke. Even if his daughter ignored it, because Diana had asked her too, he did not like it.
Bob looked up from England and saw Aiden walking towards them. The ghoul held up his clawed hands. "He's a total idiot Aiden you know that."
Allen smiled as he stood beside Etan. He knew that no one would be able to hurt him while his bodyguards were present. The obnoxious man loved picking fights when they were around, and they were always at his house. England glared at her bully neighbor as he beckoned her father closer with his hands. She wanted to rip his thorax out and show it to him.
