It was nearly midnight and we were still sat on that car, Luke had somehow wound our hands together, playing with my fingers absentmindedly. I liked the way his hands were so much bigger than mine.
"How did you get that scar?" he whispered. Our bodies were facing each other, very little space between us. I wasn't necessarily complaining though.
"This one?" I questioned pointing to the unattractive line on the side of my forehead. It ran from my hairline to the end of my eyebrow on the left side of my face. It had faded slightly but still apparent.
"I was on a ski accident. I lost control going down a hill and smashed my head on a rock. I was a bit of rebel apparently. I don't really remember what happened, but I vaguely remember something white. Could be the light to heaven or just snow, Pretty sure it was baby Jesus himself but I'll keep snow as a possibility."
He breathily laughed, his eyes crinkling at the sides.
"So, how's being at a big University?"
"I graduate this spring. I worked pretty hard to graduate early. I got a little behind due to the skiing mishap, but I caught up in no time. I'm assuming you skipped school for your epic rock band?"
"Yah, but it was so worth it. I mean after one direction died down a bit we branched away and started our own fan base and now were traveling around the world. I like doing shows here though. I always liked this place." As he spoke I watched the way his lips moved, forming awkwardly with some words due to his accent. I wondered if my mouth did the same. I then realized how enraptured I'd become and withdrew myself, gazing at the stars above us hoping he didn't notice.
"That's really cool. I'm quite jealous actually. Your off living your dream and I'm working at a Hooters franchise. Graduating was a big dream of mine, but still." I really did envy him, he had his life on a track that led him to greatness, my track was leading me a stray.
"You have your whole life ahead of you. Have some positive energy Ms.Winters! Hand me your phone!"
I followed instruction handing him the mobile. He typed in a few things before snapping a quick selfie and handing it back to me. I rolled my eyes playfully as he did so.
"I'm taking you home because it's reaching that unrespectable hour and I can't have you thinking I'm anything less than a gentlemen."
"We wouldn't want that now would we?" I laughed. Luke slid off the hood of the car and helped me jump down opening my door for me to get in. We settled into our seats and left this amazing sight. I memorized every detail so I knew a way to come back again.
"You're a pretty open book you know that?" I say as we drive back to the mall to get my car. Thankfully the girls at work put my stuff in my car for me. The mall was closed so if they hadn't I would be going home empty handed. I was also grateful that someone hadn't stolen my car due to the fact that the girls put my keys in the car!
"Yah well, there's not really much to hide. People are so scared to let other people in that they end up trusting no one. Optimism is the worlds most deteriorating past time." He sighed dramatically.
"I thought it was chivalry?" I challenged.
"That too." he laughed.
We slowly approached the mall parking garage and stopped near the back where my car was. We walked quietly, the small lights scattered around providing only a little bit of light.
"You know." I paused leaning against the trunk of my 1970 lime green custom painted mustang. This hunk of metal is my pride and joy.
"This is your car?" Luke stood there jaw slacked before I could finish.
