"Why is it that every time you tell me something about this asshole, I want to get Lucy and go and handle my business?" Nya said to Vixen.
They were having lunch in Vixen's office. Vixen and Nya had been so busy the past three days that they had not had a chance to talk much since she had called Nya the day after another disastrous date with Daniel. They had not had a chance to get into the details.
Vixen had done more crying in the last three days than she had ever done in her life but she was done with that now.
"Because you have been skeptical of him since day one and he is white so you have a low opinion of him regardless," Vixen said behind a laugh.
One of the things that she loved about her relationship with Nya is that they were always real with each other.
"You are right. I would not trust a white man as far as I could throw him but you know I really wanted this to work out of you. Right, Vixen?"
"I know, girl" Vixen said waving off Nya's concern that Vixen did not know she was just concerned about her getting hurt.
"I put myself in this position. I knew what I was doing when I took my clothes off in that field with him and so I cannot portray myself as a victim," she said taking a bite of her salad.
"I can, however, say I deserve better and I am done with Daniel Mancini."
"Well, at least you do not have stalker boy calling your office every day and sending flowers. The parents of my patients are starting to ask questions. Let alone my staff and all their giggles and whispers," Nya said taking a sip of her papaya juice.
Vixen knew that all this attention from Sal was making Nya uneasy. And if it was ANYONE but Sal she would tell her to loosen up and give him a chance.
"Has Salvatore been calling you since the after party? That was over a month ago," Vixen said hiding a smirk behind her fork full of food.
Sal had been calling Nya every day at her office since the night of the fashion show trying to get her to go out with him. He had sent flowers, somehow gotten her email and had sent her a cheesy e-card.
After what Vixen had heard on Daniel's voicemail, she did not trust that asshole as far as she could throw him. But she was sure that Nya could take care of herself.
"Yes, I am calling the authorities and pressing stalking charges if this keeps up. It's that or kill him and I do not have time to go to jail right now...." Nya said laughing.
"Excuse me, sir, you can't go in there....." came the voice of Vixen's assistant as her office door swung open and the devil himself was standing in Vixen's office.
"I only need a minute," Sal said looking over his shoulder at her assistant.
"Good afternoon, ladies. I am so sorry to interrupt your lunch but I do need to speak to you Vixen. I have called you over and over again and you have not returned any of my calls"
"Often when someone does not answer your calls that means they do not want to talk to you. Lunatic, you might want to learn the concept of taking a hint," Nya said to him
"Ma'am, would you like me to call security?" Vixen's assistant said.
"No, that is okay, Sarah. Mr. Barbatelli apparently has something he would like to say to me," Vixen said crossing her arms across her chest.
"Yes, Ma'am" Sarah said as she backed out of the office and closed the door.
"It looks like you have barged into the wrong person's office recently Mr. Barbatelli," Vixen said to Sal pointing to his eye. His right eye was black and blue and swollen shut. He had a swollen lip and a cut in the center of it. He looked like he had gotten his ass kicked and after what Vixen had heard him say she was a little sorry she missed it.
