Much has changed since my last entry.
In May, I started working part-time as a legal reporter for Federal Filings Business News. It's a financial wire service and one of the wire services offered by Dow Jones. Oddly, we are also news competitors with DJ.
I have a catch-as-catch-can sort of schedule. Or maybe fill-in-where-I-can is closer to the mark. My schedule changes each week.
Some weeks, I work two days; some weeks, three. The days tend to migrate. Usually, it's been Mon. - Tue. or Mon. - Wed., but this week it was Mon. and Fri., so you never know.
I've noticed that I have trouble sleeping the night before my first day back, with the exception of one night. Other than that, the schedule suits me fine.
I went to Malice Domestic in May and plan to attend Bouchercon in October.
We're planning a trip to York, then Philly in July. First, to the Harley-Davidson factory, then to a Phillies game.
I'm trying to get an agent for The Green Conspiracy [a crappy title I ended up changing before publishing the novel!]. I'm working on another Sam McRae story, Identity Crisis. [Yep, the one I ended up publishing first.]
Another agent, Nancy L, requested a submission, but ultimately declined. Now another agent, Vicki B (Laura Lippmann's agent) has asked to see 50 to 100 pages, which I sent. In the wings, another agent (who I met at Malice) waits to receive my manuscript.
A disjointed, but mostly complete, rendition of my recent life.
