Chapter 4:
First time outsideOn the way to Taylor's house we spotted only a couple of those things. But there were lots of dead bodies that had their insides torn out and spilled all over the ground. The sight made me want to gag, but if this is our world I cannot have such a weak stomach.
"We're almost there, can you get 2 axes and a crowbar from the back."
Adam asked as he started to pull up to Taylor's house.I did what he asked and brought them up front. He took an axe and crowbar and I got the other axe plus my bi-bi gun which was still tight against my back. We got out and started towards her house. It was as quiet here as it was at our place but; it was a lot more trashed here. Blood smeared all over the roads with bodies not too far away.
There were abandoned cars everywhere; it looked like we had been in an apocalypse for years already over here.
We walked up to her house and knocked, there was no answer so Adam tried to break the lock with the crowbar. I stood guard just in case something came running at us. Adam was making a lot of noise trying to open the door and I started to get nervous.
Just when he was starting to get somewhere with this door shit I noticed something, someone attempting to run at us, it was making its way up the path to the door. To us.
"Adam!" I shouted
"What" he whipped around and saw it.
A pale faced man with dirty shaggy hair and ripped up clothes, he looked just like the guy we saw on the T.V earlier. Adam turned around and was furiously trying to pry open the door. When the zombie started to climb up the steps Adam got the door open. He rushed me in with him following, then he tried to slam the door closed but it was too late.
The man had his arm in the door clawing at Adam. Adam was trying so hard to keep the door closed, he was grunting as much as the zombie.
"Ugh... Hit him... With the axe...ugh... Do it...NOW!" He shouted
I took at swing past the zombies arm and got him right in the forehead. He slumped to the ground. I pulled up the axe and Adam closed the door. He was huffing trying to catch his breath.
"Thanks" he breathed out.
It was quiet in her house, it was still kept pretty clean but there were papers everywhere, it looked like some of those things may have gotten in here and tore the place up.
"Taylor?" I said;
There was no response. I started to walk upstairs and I noticed some blood smudged on the walls. I was getting worried but I knew that Taylor could handle herself. As I started getting close to the top of the stairs, I heard a rumbling noise come from down the hall. I heard someone start to walk at kind of a slow pace towards us. I started to back slowly down the stairs, not taking my eyes off the top.
Adam was right behind me so I bumped into him on the way down and when we reached the bottom; we stood there and waited.
All of a sudden something comes barreling down the stairs towards us and I see that it's Taylor. Living Taylor. She came screaming at us, I couldn't make out what she was saying because I was too focused on the fact that all he had to defend herself; was this little tiny pocket knife.
I shook my head and said, " Your not gonna kill anyone with that thing. Now come on let's go it's not safe here."
"Oh my god. TESSA!! I thought u were dead!" She said as she came and attacked me with a hug.
"Ahaha I thought YOU were dead!!" I laughed.
"Why would you think that. I can survive this bullshit." She retorted
"Maybe, but certainly not with only a pocket knife to protect you." I giggled.
"Whatever lets go"With that we left her house and set off to find James.
