Siblings

A school was having a field trip to the forest. The teachers gave the students a free time for 1 hour once they arrived.

"Don't wander to far!" The teacher said. A boy, Nick and his friends, Ronald and Sarah, decided to explore the forest. They came across an old cave with wooden planks hammered over the entrance.

"Let's check it out! It was said to be haunted with the ghost of a sister and her little brother." Nick, the brave one, said. He broke some of the planks easily because they were rotten. "I don't wanna go in." Sarah said. "Me neither." Ronald said. "Chickens!" Nick said. "I don't care. I'm not taking chances with ghosts. Here's a flashlight." Ronald said, handing Nick a flashlight. "Thanks." Nick muttered. His focus was already in the cave.

"Wow, it sure is dark!" Nick exclaimed. He stepped in a puddle and slipped. The flashlight hit the hard floor and went out. Nick quickly got up and tried the flashlight. "No! No!" He said desperately, trying it again and again.

Suddenly he saw a small circle of light. "Exit!" He thought. But then, as he was running towards it, many more small circles of light appeared. And in the middle of it was 2 ghosts. The sister and her little brother.

The sister was carrying the crying little brother in a piggy back. Their clothes were those from the 60's. "Shh... shh... brother, we're almost home. We're going to be fine." The sister said in a ghostly voice.

Nick freaked out and ran like hell to where he came from. He broke the rest of the planks and panted heavily, in front of the surprised Ronald and Sarah. "What happened?" Sarah asked. "The... the ghost... it was real..." Nick panted. "What ghost?" Ronald asked. He looked inside and saw nothing.

"Let's get the teachers." Sarah said.

"I think you're hallucinating." The teacher said. "No I'm not!" Nick retorted.

"What's the commotion about?" Suddenly and old woman emerged from the forest. "Ah, sorry to disturb you. Our young Nick here said he had seen the ghost of a girl with her little brother. We think he's hallucinating." Teacher explained.

"No, he's not hallucinating." The old woman said, surprising them all. "It's a very old story, almost a legend." The old woman said.

"Long ago, when it's still war time, children got bombed when they go home from school. Some survived, some didn't. This girl and her brother hide in this cave to avoid the bombing. What they didn't know was that this cave was stuffed with time bombs. The bombs exploded while they tried to escape. Dig up the dirt in front of the cave and you'll see their corpses." The old woman said.

They dug it up and found 2 bodies, a girl with the brother in her embrace, looking so peaceful. Their corpses haven't rot yet. "Their soul kept them like this." The old woman said. "Their ghosts weren't dangerous at all. You'll be safe." The old woman added before leaving.
