It was Bon Festival, the day when you have to pray for your ancestors. My name's Naomi, I'm a ghost. How did I die? Well, it started at that festival and that day was the scariest day of my life.

Everything started out normally. I went to my ancestor's grave with my friend, Aoi. After a day full of fun, I spent the evening with Aoi. We played cards and sang with her siblings. The clock struck midnight as I was just about to eat a slice of watermelon. "Why don't you sleep here? I'll call your parents." Aoi offered. "Oh no thanks, my house's just around the corner anyway." I said, putting my geta on.

"Okay! Take care! Oh, there's a shortcut behind the temple. Just go down the stairs and you'll be behind the supermarket." Aoi waved at me. I waved back.

I followed her shortcut. When I was going down the stairs, I heard another geta footsteps. I looked up and saw a light flashing by. I got shivers and suddenly remembered the legend of a voodoo ghost that will kill anyone who sees them.

I quicken my steps and as I was nearing the bottom, I saw the ghost! It was a pale skinny man with white ghostly robes and it had 3 candles strapped around his head. It was hammering a straw voodoo doll to a tree and suddenly it saw me!

I quickly jumped to behind a nearby tree. I didn't hear anything for a while until I looked to the right. The ghost was there, smiling devilishly and its sunken eyes almost made me puke. "You saw me..." It hissed.

I ran and ran until I found a public bathroom. I opened the last stall and hide in there. I held my breath. I can hear it kicking open the stalls.

BAM! "Empty."

BAM! "Empty."

BAM! "Empty."

BAM! "Empty."

Only my stall is left. What am I gonna do?

"Found you..." I heard him hissed from above and I gasped as I looked up only to saw him smiling with those sunken eyes. He lunged at me and I died. I don't even know how I died.

I'm a spirit now. And I hate temples.
