Recap:

Anne-

"Wait, are you going to let him get away with saying all that?" i asked. I didn't really care but with the way she was yelling earlier, I didn't think Zack would get away unscathed.

"Of course not! No one says all that about my new best friend and gets away with it." she said.

"OK, so what's the plan?" i asked.

We walked back into the house. I saw Damon and Zack heading towards us. I quickly confirmed the plan with Lilly.

'Are you sure this is going to work? I don't see how ignoring him's going to work.' I thought to her.

'Trust me, it'll work. Men's egos thrive on attention.' she said. I hope this works. Zack walked toward Lilly.

"Hey Lilly, where you been?" he asked, leaning down to give her a kiss. She twisted away before he could.

"Did you hear something, Anne?" asked Lilly.

I smirked. "Nope, must have been the wind."

Chapter 7

Anne-

"What's going on?" asked Damon. We ignored him and just continued to walk into the living room.

"Why are you ignoring me? I didn't say anything!" he protested. I looked at Lilly, and raised my eyebrows, silently asking if he'd said anything. She shook her head. I turned back to Damon.

"Sorry, you were right. You didn't do anything wrong." I said.

"Well what'd I do? All I did was speak the truth." Zack said. I inwardly flinched, struggling not to let it break my barrier. But hell will go cold before I showed how much pain that sentence caused.

"C'mon, you guys can't just ignore him. I know what he said was way out of line but you can't pretend he's not there." Damon said. I sighed and looked at Lilly.

"What do you think?" I asked.

"I don't know who you guys are talking about." she said stubbornly.

"Lilly, he's right. We all live in the same house, it's virtually impossible to ignore him. And it does seem a little harsh to shun him just because of a few words." I said, trying to convince her.

She sighed in defeat. "Fine." she said. When Zack smirked triumphantly, she glared at him with a murderous expression.

"Do not even think you're off the hook. I won't completely ignore your existence but I will not acknowledge you unless it's required." she said. If looks could kill, he would be a dead man by now.

"C'mon, Anne. I'll help you unpack." she said. Zack glared at Lilly, looking like he was about to protest but Damon gave him a warning look.

"I'll help." he said. We all went upstairs, leaving a very annoyed Zack behind.

"So, where DID you go, Lilly?" asked Damon.

"She left to find me, and proceeded to rant for ten minutes, effectively ending my hunt." I said dryly. She grimaced sheepishly.

"Sorry. You can finish hunting tomorrow, Damon and I'll even join you." she said.

"Wait, what do you hunt?" asked Damon.

"What do you mean, what do I hunt. How many things CAN you hunt?" I said, confused.

"I mean do you have an animal or human diet." said Damon.

"What-...of course human! Why would I hunt animals?" I said in disgust.

"Lilly and Zack hunt animals instead of humans, because they think it's 'morally right'." said Damon. Clearly, he didn't share their views.

"Well, it kind of is morally right," I said thoughtfully. "but I don't care. I tried feeding from an animal once, worst experience of my life." I shuddered. I still remember the horrid taste...

"Agreed." said Damon grimacing. Lilly just shook her head in exasperation. She employed my clothes on the bed and started folding them.

"Are you guys going to just stand there or help me?" she said dryly.

"Right. Sorry." we muttered. We went to help her.

A few minutes later Lilly asked, "Is this all you have with you?"

I grimaced. "Yeah, someone's gonna bring the rest of my stuff in a few days, but this is all my clothes." I admitted.

"Well, that won't do. We're going shopping later." she declared.

"Ha Ha." said Damon. Real mature, Damon.

"You're coming too. You need more shirts." she said.

"Ha Ha." I said. He scowled and muttered something about Lilly.

"What did you say?" she said, narrowing her eyes dangerously.

"I said...that..I'm so excited to..go..shopping?" he said.

"M hmm, that's what I thought." she said.

"Well let me give you a tour of the house." she said to me.

By the time she finished showing me around the house, it was 8 pm. We headed towards the living room. Both of the boys were in there.

"What do guys want to order?" asked Damon. We sat down across from them.

"Anne?" asked Lilly. I shrugged.

"Pizza?" I said. Lilly and Damon agreed.

"I'm going out." he said stiffly.

"I'll join you." said Lilly. We all looked at her in surprise.

"I need to talk to you about something. That doesn't mean I've forgiven you." she said. HE nodded, and they both left.

"OK, I'll get the plates and soda, you order the pizza. I don't know who has the best pizza." I said to Damon.

Half an hour later, both of us were laughing and eating pizza, and telling stories on the couch.

"He...dyed your hair...pink?" Damon said, laughing hysterically at the image of me with pink hair.. I was telling him about the time Stephen put pink hair dye in my shampoo.

"Actually, not just pink. It was pink, neon green, and neon yellow." I admitted, grimacing at the memory. That just made him laugh harder.

"It's not funny! It was tramutatizing." I yelped.

At this point, he was laughing so hard he fell right off the couch. Now, I was the one laughing hysterically. He climbed back up still laughing. At this point we were clutching each other for dear life. Suddenly he stopped laughing. I started to ask him what was wrong but the look in his eyes stopped me.

Damon-

God, she was beautiful.

Her face was half-shadowed by the fireplace. He could see her eyes, shining with light. Her skin like pure porcelain. I don't know who leaned towards who, but suddenly, there was only an inch between us.

Then, there was a knock on the door.

Anne blinked. We jerked apart.

"I'll get it." I said. She obviously not planning to move anytime soon. Her face was a bright pink. Oh, she looked adorable like that. She cleared her throat, looking pointedly at the door.

Oh, right. Door.

I headed over to the door and let Zack and Lilly in.

"Hey Anne." chirped Lilly. She was still blushing profusely, and murmured something about heading to bed and fled to her room. I chuckled. I guess I wasn't the only one affected by that little moment.
