Chapter 8

"Hey Chandler, how's it going?"
"I'm good, and you?"
"Besides being the only survivor of the plane crash, I'm fine."
"I'm glad that you're all right. I missed you."
"I missed you too."
When Mason tried to kiss me I blocked his kiss with my hand.
"What the hell Chandler, I thought we were a couple."
"We were, when your plane crashed I was heartbroken for months. And when I saw that they found your body, I was so depressed that I didn't talk to anyone for two weeks. And when I felt like I was ready I started to put myself out there again and then I found another amazing guy who treats me almost the same way you did. His name is Hollis. You have to understand...I thought you were dead. I had to cry myself to sleep everyday, but now that I know you survived I honestly don't know what to do."
"You moved on which was the right thing to do, and I respect you for it. If you and Hollis ever break up, just know that I'll be waiting for you. I love you Chandler."
"I love you too Mason."
Mason and I hugged for quite a few minutes before we separated, but I kept my hands on his shoulders, pulled him inside and all the way upstairs.
"I thought you were with Hollis."
"I am, but I want to be with you again."
"Chandler you're in a relationship with Hollis, you can't cheat on him. You'd break his heart."
"Yeah, you're right."
"I know you still have feelings for me, but you're with Hollis now and he needs to know that he can trust you. I can wait until you two break up, and please don't force a break up."
"I won't. I promise."
"Good."
"Come on, I want to introduce you to everyone downstairs."

5 minutes later...
Ryker's POV
"So Mason, how exactly did you survive?"
"Come on Ryker, Mason doesn't want to talk about the day he almost died."
"Yeah, Chandler's right. I don't want to talk about that day. It was horrible."
"So Mason, How did you and Chandler meet?"
"I know that you want to get to know about Mason more Ryker, but asking about the relationship he and I had is an invasion of our privacy. So please stop, and ask some questions for example, where did you grow up Mason?"
"I grew up in Halifax for the first five years of my life before my family decided to move to Atlanta, Georgia."
"So Mason, do you ever FaceTime or Skype your friends back in Halifax?" Andrew wonders. "And what's your favourite movie and television series?"
"Yes I do, and they're always happy to hear from me. My favourite movie is The Godfather and my favourite television series is The Walking Dead."
"Mason?"
"Yes Chan?"
"How did you know where to find me? Have you been stalking me?"
"Yes I have."
"Why?"
"Because I didn't want to ruin your fun by revealing myself. You looked so happy and I didn't want to have you cry in front of your friends."
"They wouldn't have been tears of sorrow, they would've been tears of joy. I still love you Mason, but now Hollis is my boyfriend."
"What does Hollis look like?"

Chandler's POV
I took out my phone, unlocked it and showed Mason the picture I have as my home screen.
"That's Hollis."
"He's cute and pretty handsome."
"Yeah, he is."
"And I see you still have a picture of me as your lock screen picture."
"I just didn't want to forget you and I wanted it to feel like you were still with me."
"Awwww."
Everyone was chanting "kiss," over and over, but I knew I had to stay loyal to Hollis so I didn't kiss my ex-boyfriend.
"Hey Chan, how'd you get that scar on your neck?"
"Where?"
Mason guided my index finger to the scar's location and I was wondering the same thing.
"Maybe Chandler hasn't fully healed from what happened on that fateful day." Grayson states.
"Why what happened?"
"He was assaulted Mason."
"By who?"
"Ryker."
I saw Mason clench his fists, and to stop him from doing anything hasty I placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Mason calm down."
"But that asshole sitting across from me assaulted you! Are you telling me that you're fine with that!? Because I'm not. Someone needs to teach him a lesson!"
"Mason calm down! He apologized and everyone here is helping him become a kindred soul again. And trust me you don't want to get into a fight with Ryker because you will lose, and you'll ruin our progress. He's currently taking anger management. His next class is tomorrow."
"Chandler is right Mason, you wouldn't last long in a fight with me, and everyone here is helping me become the gentle soul I used to be as a child. So please don't ruin their progress over something that happened almost a month ago."
"Fine, but just know that if you ever hurt Chandler again you'll regret it."
"Mason stop! You're just making this worse."
"I'm just trying to protect you Chan, but I can see that I'm not needed here. So I'll just go."

Mason's POV
I got up from my seat, ran over to the front door and left the house.
I knew that this was a huge mistake. I know that Chandler was glad to see me, but maybe I should've stayed away. If I had known that there was a situation like this going on I would've kept my distance. I know that Chandler was trying to protect me like I was trying to protect him, but he didn't have to raise his voice at me. He's never done that before.
"Mason?"
I didn't answer.
"Mason, I just want to apologize for raising my voice at you. I was just trying to protect you."
"I know. But you didn't have to yell."
"I'm sorry for raising my voice at you. But I wouldn't have raised it if you listened to me the first time."
"You've changed Chandler."
"Come here Mason, please."
I approached Chandler and didn't bother looking at him.
"What would you like Chan?"
"Mason, from the moment I met you I knew you were the one I would want to spend the rest of my life with, and with every day that went by that we shared together were the best days of my life..."
"I feel the same way."
"I really am sorry for yelling at you."
"It's all right. After all, I can't stay mad at you handsome."
"You're the handsome one, I may be cute but I'm not as handsome as you."
"You're right you're not handsome...you're absolutely beautiful."
Chandler immediately pulled me in for a kiss.

10 minutes later...
"I forgot how soft your lips were Mason."
"And I forgot how smooth your lips are Chandler."
"Mason?"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks for being the best boyfriend you could've been when we were together. You made everyday worthwhile and memorable."
"You're welcome Chan. And thank you as well."
"You're welcome."
"Not a Day Goes By- Lonestar" starts playing
"Excuse me Mason, I have to get this."

Chandler's POV
"Hey Hollis, what's up?"
"*crying* Can you come over please? I need some company after I found out that my parents died in a car crash and that..."
"What else did you find out?"
"I'm going to have to move. I won't be able to see you again unless it's through FaceTime or Skype. So I want to spend as much time with you as I can."
"Of course I'll be right over. When do you have to move?"
"Tomorrow."
