Namjoon ♡ Amusement Park

"Are you ready, baby?" Namjoon asked while sliding on his cap.
"I'm all set."
"You excited?"
"I'm beyond excited."
"We'd better get going then." He said grabbing your hand and leading you out the front door.
You and Namjoon had made plans earlier in the week to take a trip to the amusement park for a fun date. The both of you had decided to go later in the day so you would be able to end it by seeing the sunset at the park.
Namjoon was over the moon about your date plans, probably more excited than you were.
The drive down there was spent listening to one of his many playlists and discussing which rides you were most excited to get on.

Namjoon had barely put the car in park and was already unbuckling his seatbelt. He got out of the car and moved over to your side to open the door for you, offering his hand which you gladly took and let him pull you across the parking lot to the front entrance.
"Everything's on me today, darling." He told you while waiting in line.
"You don't have to do that. At least let me pay for snacks."
He shook his head. "Don't worry about it."
He paid for two admissions and each of you received a stamp on the back of your hands.
"Which ride would you like to go on first?" He asked, looking over to you.
"Is a roller coaster too much to start with? It's been a while since I've been on one."
"Not at all. Which one should we ride?"
"How about that one?" You suggested, pointing to a medium-sized roller coaster with high arches and sideways turns. Nothing too crazy but one guaranteed to give you an adrenaline rush.
"Sounds good to me."

You headed over and stood in the queue of people waiting to get on the ride. The closer you got to the front of the line the more excited you became. When it was finally your turn, you both made sure to get a seat next to each other.
"You ready?" Namjoon asked after he got himself secured in the seat.
"Oh absolutely."

A few moments later after everyone's seatbelts were checked, the ride started.
It was calm at first, just a few little turns here and there, then it was time for the big drop.
The coaster clicked and ticked as the tram was carried up the large incline, the anticipation building. When it came to a gradual stop at the peak, Namjoon reached over and grasped your hand tightly in preparation for the steep descent.
Slowly, the coaster started going down until it dropped down all at once, everyone on the ride screaming in response, including you and Namjoon. You were squeezing each other's hands so hard it hurt, but neither of you cared.
When the ride was over, you were both left grinning from ear to ear and brimming with adrenaline.
"That was so much fun." You laughed joyfully.
"Let's ride that one next." Namjoon nudged you, pointing to a large rollercoaster with loops.
"Are you sure? It goes upside down. I've never been on one of those before."
"We won't ride it if you don't want to."
"No, I want to try it out. I'm just a little scared is all."

You stood in line for the thrilling ride, your anxiety rising as you neared the front, imagining what it would be like to go upside down on a roller coaster.
When it was your turn, the both of you selected your seats and got buckled in, making sure the large bar that caged in your upper body was secure. You let out a shaky breath in preparation.
"You okay?" Namjoon asked.
"Just nervous." You responded with a weak laugh, your anxiousness showing through it.
"It's alright. I'm here." He assured you, grasping your hand and giving it a light squeeze.
You felt a sense of relief as the ride slowly started. It was fun at first, taking a few turns and going over a couple small hills, then came the big loop that you had been both dreading and anticipating. Before you could process anything, you were upside down and already moving to the next loop. It was a weird sensation to be upside down, but it all happened so fast and ended before you knew it. After the initial loop, the rest of the ride was more enjoyable and so thrilling.
Once the ride was over Namjoon made sure you were alright even though he had seen you smiling during the duration of the ride.
"It was actually really fun. If I had to describe it in one word it would be... exhilarating."
"Ooh that's a good word." Namjoon nodded.

The rest of the day was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and lots of fried fair foods. Even though you and Namjoon had been there for half a day, you managed to get on most of the rides at the park and even played a few games. You had a competitive round of bumper cars as well as played a few sessions of ring toss. While trying out some of the games available, Namjoon had won an adorable plushie of your favorite animal which you vowed to keep forever.

By the time you finished making your way around the park, the sun was starting to set. At that point, you both rode all of your favorite rides except the Ferris Wheel, which you planned to get on last as a way to end the evening.
"The sun is setting. We need to hurry." Namjoon mentioned grasping your hand, pulling you through the park and speed walking to the Ferris Wheel, his long legs carrying him as quickly as they possibly could.
There was a few people in line who most likely had the same idea as the both of you, so the wait time was a bit longer than you would have liked. Thankfully, you and Namjoon got seated on the ride at the perfect time.

Your pod was carried up higher and higher until you reached the peak where you were met with the most breathtaking view.
"It's so beautiful." You marveled, gazing in astonishment at the scene before you.
"Can you believe such beauty exists in the world?" Namjoon asked.
"Sometimes I can't."
You felt Namjoon's hand grasp your own, this causing you to glance over. He gently put his fingers under your chin with his free hand and lifted your face to look up at his. Only a few seconds passed before he was closing the space between your faces, his lips brushing teasingly against your own.
"Thank you for spending the day with me." He murmured in that deep voice of his that made you weak in the knees.
His lips were on yours seconds later, kissing you tenderly and taking your breath away.

Out of all the times you'd been to an amusement park, this one was by far the best.

The original word count on this was 657 and now it's 1,174, which is still kinda short (compared to some of my other works) but it's much better than 657. A lot of my old works were too short for my liking. Anyone who got to read the original versions, you guys weren't getting the most out of them, but you are now! 🤩
